Wow, tough one. I'll say "Carry Home" only because the first time I heard it roaring through the speakers it knocked me on my ass and still does! It may not be the best song, but otherwise it's too hard a poll to answer.

I expect the CCR cover will get a lot of ILM love for some reason...

"Carry Home" without a doubt.

i think "john hardy" takes over "carry home" for just a tiny bit.
maybe because its because ive listend to "carry home" too much.
anyway, at least in terms of jeffrey lee pierce's vocals - john hardy is the best.
btw,did you notice that "miami" is the only "gun club" lp on which jeffrey lee pierce sings also in low, bass vocals?

one year passes...

I voted for "Carry Home" -- and without regret -- but I played "Watermelon Man" today whilst walking in the rain down East 9th Street, and couldn't stop myself from full-on singing out loud with it, prompting many concerned stares from passers-by. God bless the fucking Gun Club.

NO votes for 'mother of earth'? that's poked.

ruined by rotten production this record

It's a bit tinny, but I wouldn't call it 'ruined'.

two months pass...

"Carry Home" is a deserving winner, but if I'd seen this poll at the time I might've voted for "Mother Of Earth". Always had a soft spot for "Like Calling Up Thunder", too. God bless the fucking Gun Club is right.

this is not the masterpiece though. it's great but fire of love will always be the one.

It's hard for me to be objective: Fire Of Love I've heard so often and over so many (gulp) decades compared with anything else (somewhere after Las Vegas Story or maybe Mother Juno) I kind of lost track of them for a good while) any remaining critical capacities I still possess are pretty much incapacitated.
