Does Dax not alternately sing like he believes he is a Stone Temple Pilot and then scream unholy metal terror?
There is so much good metal from Louisiana.

fifteen years pass...
god I forgot how much I loved these guys. saw Goatwhore last night and talked to Sammy and told him how much I loved his work in AB, and my friend blasted their music on the way back.
Acid Bath ever do shows with Eyehategod? i'd guess so. that'd be a killer bill.

two years pass...
So...if you'd told me a year ago I'd see Acid Bath twice in two months in 2025 I'd have called you a fool.
Second time was better because full set. Thoughts:
I never paid much attention to Dax in the past outside of AB. I had no idea how elastic and versatile his voice is, because he only ever used a limited, affected version of it in AB. After listening to Agents of Oblivion for the first time, I realized he had a much bigger palette.
Dax really displayed that a lot more live. They did extended versions of songs where, more than once he actually took a vocal line *up* an octave from what it was on disc.
A grouse I heard from a few people- "I wish they'd done more of their heavier songs".
This seems an absurd complaint considering they performed 42% of their discography (excluding interludes).
But probably came about because they did "Scream of the Butterfly", "Bones of Baby Dolls", and "New Death Sensation" in the same set.
Never minding that all three are equally part of the AB experience and all are about as dark and haunting as their amplified stuff, uhh..."New Death Sensation" made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. They extended the ending by about a minute and added loud guitars at the end.
"Paegen Love Song" was incredible to sing along with THOUSANDS of other people.
One idiot kept screaming "GOD MACHINE" over and over, so people started shouting out Chappell Roan requests to troll him (I love CR so i woulda welcomed it)
Sammy Duet seems REALLY excited about doing this again. I doubt we get anything but live shows from it but man. What a ride
