Monstrance: Martyn Barker, Barry Andrews and Andy Partridge

Anyone else heard this yet?

I was excited to hear Andrews and Partridge back together but this is sort of hard to take. It seems to me this is nothing more than (for the most part)aimless jamming and experimentation. Very self-indulgent (much like the Fuzzy Warbles box set.)

Andy seems determined to release every last bit of his material. What's next? Voicemail messages?

The Fuzzy Warbles series is hardly self-indulgent. For the dedicated fan, certainly, but full of gems.

Monstrance does sound like studio wankery at times whereas other bits seem fully formed. Having said that, I don't see playing this more than annually.

Barry Andrews lifted some samples for the latest Shriekback album, _Glory Bumps_.
