Just curious what everyone thinks the closest band to NMA they've heard is? Late to mid period, the early stuff is good but not as. Thanks much.

Those aren't blanket rejections, btw. Love Crass, love Sham, like BB's early work. I like several NMA songs, too, but the folk-influenced stuff can piss right off.

Midnight Oil (judging from the new New Model Army album, which I thought was okay, but which does not seem to have Slade the Leveler on it.) On the best track, Midnight Oil with Killing Joke drumbeats, maybe.
I need to go back and listen to the earlier stuff someday.
(Also, I'm not all that big a Midnight Oil fan, so I could be wrong.)
