Numero Group's New Labels -- Asterisk and Flat

I love the Numero Group's reissues. They've just announced plans to launch two new labels: The Asterisk Label and the Flat Label. The Flat Label is for jazz records. I'm less sure I understand the purpose behind the Asterisk Label (that is, why discs will be released via Asterisk instead of the Numero Group Label). It sounds like Asterisk will reissue whole discs, instead of compilations (but Numero has reissued whole discs, too, e.g., Fern Jones' disc, Antenna's disc). It also sounds like Asterisk releases will be less heavily promoted than Numero Group releases. Those don't sound like especially significant differences to me, though.

Anyway, if anyone has any information about either new label, I'd very much appreciate it. Two stories about the new labels (one of which is just a press release, I think) are linked below. Thanks.

seven months pass...

Nice new article in Dusted Magazine about the Asterick Label, which nicely explains the difference between main label (The Numero Group) and the spinoff label (The Asterick Label). Basically, The Numero Group will do the compilation discs and The Asterick Label will reissue full-length single discs. Nice write-up.

Gah. Too many "nices" in that post. Lousy editing.
