Have Earth, Wind & Fire written "System of Survival" out of their history?

It must be on their boxed set; it was an R&B Number One, and a great one. But it's not on their second best-of, and it's sure as hell not on the two-disc Essential Earth, Wind & Fire, which brings much smaller (and occasionally boring) hits. Sometimes . . . damn.

That song is on their boxed set. Good song. Went to #1 on the R&B charts, but you are right. EWF seem to have forgotten about it.

A good recent review

It's just a lot tougher-sounding than the last few tracks on Essential, which gives the impression that they turned into a slow-paced ballad machine after, say, "Let's Groove."

have they also forgotten about the jingle they composed for the old Ford Taurus commercials?

Generally, Earth Wind & Fire stopped being good around the mid 80s.

I'd never heard it before (I was 3 in 1987) Watched the video and thought it was pretty corny. I don't know why If Timi Yuro... thinks it's some kind of shame that Dust in the Wind is more popular than this frankly average 80s funk-lite jam.

But the biggest question the video raises is this: What kind of drive-in serves teriyaki, pastrami AND burritos?
