I think its pretty good. "Discotheque 36" and "Angels Come To Comfort You" are great, in the Teenager of the Year tradition if not neccessarily in the Doolittle tradition. Teenager of the Year is vastly underrated anyway.
I think this new one is pretty easily his best album in years though - anyone else?

I dunno, "Discotheque 36" isn't bad. I do like Teenager of the Year,that's probably his best solo record. Each of his Nashville records has their moments, mostly on the songs he didn't cut in Nashville. He's such a paradoxical fellow.

I don't think it's accurate to compare it to the Pixies however, but it is one of his best albums...
