Britney's body looks fine. A bit thick-er than her heyday, sure, but there's nothing wrong with some thickness.

As far as her performance... well, I'm still holding on to the small chance that it was a big prank and she's going to come back out and ROCK IT.

Alicia Keys is chunky now too.

you know, its not that thickness is a bad thing. when you saw britneys body, everyone should have realized what we've already suspected: She has no interest in putting the work she used to put in, but still wants all the attention.

Me and my friends were gonna watch Trolls 1 & 2 tonight, MTV distracted us just enough that we only got through the first. We missed Kid Rock promoting his album evidently, but we did catch Dr. Dre wearing George Michael's muscle suit.

xpost we also missed kanye/t-pain but we caught the true rock beardos (kinda reminded me of when Megadeth shows up at the end of Decline Of Western Civilization II to remind us of REAL metal)

in an era when fans can watch concerts on their cellphones and spy on hours-old gigs by way of YouTube, it’s harder than ever to arrange a performance that feels like a big deal.

what the fuck, chief? evidently, people are watching performances on youtube and on their cellphones (maybe), and so... that makes it hard to be a big deal how?

I think the big problem with the show was that it was tailormade for cellphones and YouTubes. They should have went A BIGGER BLOWOUT instead of having intimate performances of Fall Out Boy for people to download later.

It's so weird that they got rid of a bunch of old award categories just to replace them with new ones with really stupid names. "Monster Single"? "Most Earthshattering Collaboration"? "Quadruple Threat Of The Year"? Even the presenters couldn't say those phrases with a straight face.

how many awards did they even give out? three? not that these awards are even relevant, but they did seem very secondary.

X-Factor performances dominate YouTube's most watched clips in the UK. so mediocrity of VMA performances would be in good, popular company.

perhaps they'll have to democratise the awards more to maintain budget interest over the next few years? not that this would result in different winners really tho.

Dude they're having the audience vote on their fave clips and that's the version they're re-running.

I wonder when Kelefa's deadline was, cuz ]And the channel promised to cut down on the usual endless reruns; “Happening once and only once,” the commercials kept announcing, with a hint of desperation was kinda disproven when the show immediately was re-run.

Also, Sarah Silverman was not the host, which was kinda obvious after the first half hour.

It didn't really have a host. 2004's didn't either.

Judging from this show's treatment of Tim, Kanye and Dr. Dre, I'd say rap producers officially have way more showbiz juice than any rappers these days.

Yeah, its really fucking disturbing to read all the reports of how "fat" she was.

Britney was not fat.

However, she didn't look good in that outfit. It had nothing to do with her actual size and more to do with the fact that she isn't very toned anymore. Had she actually been wearing pants with that ensemble, it would have come across much better IMO. (Also, if she hadn't seemed like a drugged-out zombie throughout the performance, how she looked in that outfit wouldn't have been as much of a deal.)

Rev warned us about Macklemore back when he was just a NW phenomenon, but we didn't listen. Now he's whole-country famous and we have to ride it out until nobody cares anymore.

I liked Katy Perry's "Fireworks" but her new one, done in a boxing ring set up in front of the Brooklyn Bridge was a nothing closer to the night.
