Supersister - "She Was Naked"

Does anyone besides me think this song rules? I only checked it out because it's due to be on the soundtrack to the new film about Joy Division's Ian Curtis entitled Control. It's kindof proggy but doesn't overdo it. I guess it's from the 70's or whatever. I don't know why it was included on the soundtrack, really.

I think (but don't know for sure) one reason might be that Corbijn is probably very familiar with it, as Supersister's dutch and "She was naked" was a pretty big hit here in the Netherlands. It's their first single, from 1970. The band started while they were in highschool in 1968. They're progressive, but quite funny as well. Don't know their other material (they put out quite a few albums) though... Singer/keyboardist Stips later played with the Golden Earring for a while before joining the Nits in 1980.

I have a few of their records that are quite nice. Can't remember any titles offhand though. There's a really good 'twofer' CD out there...

Listening to this song now, it's really beautiful. It's kinda Macca but it's also kind of Kevin Ayers. Don't dig the rocking organ / guitar part as much as the flute part.

Yes! Fantastic information, Willem! I had forgotten Corbijn was dutch.
Thanks.

Smart, good Americans really do love Europe these days, don't be fooled. I love France, too. And Belgium especially. Don't leave me behind.

Also thank you Assholes for mentioning Kevin Ayres. I have a bit of a soft spot for him since The Church covered one of his songs on Box of Birds and also he did a song with Nico I listened to a minute ago.

What song did The Church cover?

And as for the song with Nico - are ypu listening to that "June 1974" LP with Eno, Cale and Nico? That record rules

one year passes...

"She Was Naked", beautifully bountiful as, er, she is, seems just one of many Supersister's charms. There's quite a few more. "Dreaming Weelwhile","Higher", "Radio", "Psychopath", "Looking Back"... And I havent even got to anything from the Iskander or Spiral Staircase alb's yet :)
