that came with an mp3 player. Is there anything worth getting on here?

dunno....i just signed up for a trial with yahoo music in order to get roboform free, no intention of keeping it; you have to pay for the subscription(streaming celestial jukebox good in theory but times out every 2 minutes or so), THEN pay extra if you want to download stuff, i didn't sign up for this, maaan. they also force you to use yahoo music player i think. an extremely poor man's version of itunes and i fucking hate itunes.

It's my main source of music while at work - I only stream, don't download, works well with Firefox. What is this yahoo music player? I just use a Firefox plugin.

you mean you use rhapsody? i just looked up the yahoo music player firefox plugin and it looks dicey so you can't be talking about that. yahoo music player used to be musicmatch jukebox(great app, best music tagger ever) then yahoo acquired it and added ten tons of garbage and it's a big gaudy buggy portal to their online music store now.

i should say musicmatch was buggy already but at least it was awesome when it worked.

yah, I use rhapsody, with the rhapsody firefox plugin. also, my reading comprehension timed out last night. now, by the light of day, I understand your post and mine makes no sense.

i've been trying rhapsody and it is kind of great, just type something in and hear it hmmm. little/no skips and pauses so far, that would be the dealbreaker.

been a happy rhapsody subscriber four years now, fun for the whole family! experienced a few glitches switching from pc to mac but after re-installing the player now it works better than it did w/windows.
guess Im over ownership (sigh)

yeah i can feel my head changing that way, except for needing tracks for my mp3 player or mixtapes i rarely feel the need for downloading anymore. and the massive amount of stuff they have distracts me from the not inconsiderable amount of stuff they don't have, at least so far.

ATTENTION all 3 people on ilm who may possibly, at your leisure, find this somewhat diverting:

Yahoo Music users getting folded over into rhapsody, uh, so there you go. good riddance, yahoo sucked at this. still liking rhapsody pretty well.

rhapsody going drm-free? how about doing a tear down job on yr sucky media player? the streaming subscription model wouldn't be such a hard sell if they got their act together in say, every other thing they do. I guess this is a start.

(for people willing to pay 99 cents for a downloaded song, which is still crazy talk)
