According to wikipedia, the original version got to #60 on the UK charts in 1997 and the remix got to #1 the following year. Make of that what you will.

m83 jackson remix is more famous because of its inclusion on fabric 13 and m83 superpitcher remix probably isn't more famous than the original, but it is permanently lodged in my head (although it did appear on a couple pretty high profile dj mixes). famous doesn't necessarily mean better, but i think both of these are better than the originals.

I didn't even know what indie was in 1997. I used to hear it on the late Y100 from time to time and didn't realize there even WAS a remix until earlier this year.
