"The time felt right to drop the bags, start again and leave the past truly behind," explains Sioux in her distinctive gravelly tones, adding that a live tour in 2004 was the long-burning inspiration for a new album.

i enjoyed the bad tempered recent mojo interview. the album has a few cracking tracks, that is, once you get past the Garbage styled industrial-lite openers. By far, the best, is the closer, heaven and alchemy, a track that could have been easily extended to be a lot longer as the production/melody/vocals are rather special. oh, and candidate for best coverart for '07 perhaps ?

So no-one is discussing this?
I was initially quite thrilled by the jazzy element. Sounded for a while like what I'd want Goldfrapp to be doing, but after a few spins I've already gotten bored with this record.

It only took me one listen to get bored with it. It's not that it's bad it's simply not interesting. And I'm a fan of most of her work! Ah well...

So it seems that no-one cares about this record. I saw her live on Saturday night and had to say that the songs sounded very impressive. I need to give this album a second chance.

I was bored with it halfway through the first listen. I will try it again once I stop going apeshit over Kenna and Kanye.

I'm going to see her at the Roundhouse next week.
What's Budgie upto? I'm worried about him, after reading in the official SATB biog about his previous alcohol issues.
More chance of a full Slits reunion now perhaps?

Well, that was an interesting concert....
With the exception of an excellent Israel, the Banshee re-runs were a bit on the dull side - whilst the new songs (which I'm not yet familiar with) had some absorbing textures. It was good to hear Nicotine Stain again though.
She is looking a little bit on the ludicrous side these days with her thigh high black leather boots and kicking dance steps.

Forgot to post at the time, but Siouxsie looked and sounded fabulous on Jools Holland last Friday.
