What's the silliest amount of money you've spent on music memorabilia?

I just bought Harry Nilsson's favorite robe at auction for about $500. I'm very happy, but it certainly is a fairly ludicrous thing to do, especially since I'm not really a collector of anything besides old LPs (up to this point).

So, what LPs, CDs, memorabilia, or other music-obsessive stuffs have you bought that other people would think you'd overpaid for?

I paid a stupid amount of money for The Complete Funhouse Sessions. Rue the day.

I bought that box too, Alex. Seemed (just barely) worth it at the time, but that was before the 2-disc reissue.

Paid $100.50 for one of the earliest issues of Creem Magazine, when it was still a tabloid. (A 30,200% markup if my math is correct)

i was wondering how much that harry nilsson robe was going to go for! i almost bid for it, as it would've been the most perfect birthday present ever for a very good friend. but i'm not THAT nice a friend. (but you got other goodies in there along with the robe, right?)

Yes, it's got several pictures of Harry wearing the robe and leaning on a shovel (one of them signed by Harry with the phrase "I can dig it!") and the negatives of said photo to prove legitimacy, as well as a T-shirt with a printing of the photo (which apparently was made as a joke for Nilsson).

I'm not upset at all about this purchase, but I do realize that it was silly. Still, a small piece of history, eh?
