I just filed a negative review. She needs more bad taste in her life.
Basically, she needs to more stuff like this.

I heard a track off this yesterday morning. I don't get what she's trying to do.

A pity. Everyone loves the idea of Annie Lennox.

I hate the idea of the struggle after authenticity she keeps ploughing solo. The monkey reading her press release before the video called her "the Queen of Soul" or something. Yuk. I love the sound of her voice on the Eurythmics records way more than I've ever loved her since.

Wait, wait, wait, people -- Diva is the greatest adult contemporary album in history.

She needs a moniker. Part of why those great Eurythmics records like 1984 and Savage worked so well is that they seemed more dramatic than confessional.

Heard her single with Madonna. SOunds like something tasteful released in 1998. Pointless.

I loved Medusa so much that I'll buy anything she does just on principle

listening to album now, how anybody who likes pretty much any-era A.L. wouldn't like the 2nd track is beyond me
― J0hn D., Thursday, 4 October 2007 12:23 (seventeen years ago)
I like that second track!

So, Al, I'm guessing from your review that you don't really care for Diva, despite its Steve Lipson production being almost the perfect synthesis of Trevor Horn Expensive in an adult-contemporary context.
― Naive Teen Idol, Thursday, 4 October 2007 22:09 (seventeen years ago)
I'd have been fine with Diva had Lipson written the songs too.
― Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Thursday, 4 October 2007 22:12 (seventeen years ago)
the singles were fine though.
What was wrong w/ the songs?
― Naive Teen Idol, Thursday, 4 October 2007 22:39 (seventeen years ago)
I love "No More I Love Yous".
― Tim F, Thursday, 4 October 2007 22:57 (seventeen years ago)
that song completely kills me

I've a deep attachment to Stewart: "Here Comes The Rain Again" was the first 45 I ever bought with my own money, and just about every Eurythmics single emits its own distinct schlocky pleasure; but, solo, "Annie Lennox" remains a great idea, or maybe a not-so-great idea. We could find several worse multiplatinum AC popsters, but she's working in a genre that's not totally at home with the ironies Lennox used in the eighties, so her straightforward balladry seems a handsome concession at best, a classy sell-out at worst.
(actually, maybe she needs to sell out some MORE. I dunno. Whatever)

*er, I've a deep attachment to LENNOX. Stewart can fend for himself.
wow the chorus of "lost"

Promising young singer, think she'll get somewhere.
