I had a dream about 102 Beats last night in which Top promised a 1020 word essay summing up the results.

Gaz Topp? Wow.

Graham, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No, Top the indie band. A favorite! Not of mine, though.

V. good batch (setting aside my rant). I very much like Rosemary's -- "Luxembourg?"

I wish I could hear that Keith Hudson album (or any of those Keith Hudson vocal albums from that period).

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What Ned said (excepting mine instead of his)

RickyT, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I get to hear the Keith Hudson album! Stoked.

Now I'm all nervous that my blurb sucks. I didn't really follow the format of trying to make somebody hear it, I was stuck in the mode of last year's FT birthday. I'm glad Tom engineered things so the next person has to hear it, because after reading my blurb I don't think anybody would want to...we'll see.

Good work, Tom, in any case. I really like how you are presenting this feature.

Mark, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I didn't enter a submission to this because I was convinced that I couldn't write; now I am gratified to learn that no-one else can either! hooray!

Mark, I'm glad Tom set it up so he has to run it, too. Boy, that sure took the pressure off for me. If you're lucky your blurb will run close to mine, which I know for a fact sucks, and will make anything near it look brilliant.

I've been listening to a lot of France Gall lately. Anybody who has heard April March's ye-ye recreations will immediately recognize France's voice as her model and the reason a 30-something Californian tries to sound like a petulant teenager. But Luxembourg?

Curt, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Luxembourg! Got France's second choice because of the strange popularity of Guy Mardel.

Benjamin, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah, I've enjoyed running it. The no editing (except for crappy little mistakes like its/it's) thing makes my job a lot easier and means a broader range of approaches have gone in. I've already got an idea for the next FT Special Event, too.
