Rob Deacon, probably best known as the man behind the Volume and Trance Europe Express CD's in the 90's died in a canoeing accident..

Rob also worked for Third Mind records in the early 80's before starting his own label Sweatbox releasing early records by In The Nursery, Meat Beat Manifesto and Ultramarine...

Goddamn that's a shame. I loved the Volume series, still have most of the early issues around; at the time it was the handiest way to actually *hear* what all the press hypes were in MM and the like. Also where I first heard Pulp.
