My vote for "You And I" although "Blame It On The Sun" and "I Believe" are also fantastic.

I expect an undeserved winner here though.

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 11 October 2007 12:38 (eighteen years ago)

If you mean "Superstition," only you would call that undeserved.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 11 October 2007 12:40 (eighteen years ago)

"You and I" for the synths

poortheatre, Thursday, 11 October 2007 12:40 (eighteen years ago)

"Maybe Your Baby" for the synths.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

there is not a single track on this album that could even remotely be labeled "undeserved" if it wins. this thread will only create undeserved losers.

fact checking cuz, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

"You are the sunshine of my life" would be undeserving for it's inherit(ed) cheese factor, but hey.

Mark G, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

"you are the sunshine..." is a great song and a great vocal performance.

fact checking cuz, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

very tempting to vote for "Superstition" but I love "Big Brother" so much

milo z, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

Lately it's "I Believe (When We Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)."

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)

Gavin in Leeds, Thursday, 11 October 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

historically my fave has been "blame it on the sun" but right now i'm torn between "superstition" (inspired in part by that great youtube clip of him playing it on sesame street) and "looking for another pure love."

fact checking cuz, Thursday, 11 October 2007 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm voting for "I Believe." The multitracked "Hey!" a few choruses before the breakdown fucking gets me every time.

And what an unbelievable drummer he was.

Sara Sara Sara, Thursday, 11 October 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

Superstition

max r, Thursday, 11 October 2007 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

Big Brother for the melody

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 11 October 2007 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

This might be about the one and only time I vote the same as Geir.

Eric H., Thursday, 11 October 2007 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

"Superstition" is the only bad song here. Well, not bad, but terribly overrated anyway.

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 11 October 2007 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

Well, that was a short-lived synchronicity.

Eric H., Friday, 12 October 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

Ha ha -- I know the feeling.

Naive Teen Idol, Friday, 12 October 2007 03:08 (eighteen years ago)

Superstition is fantastic. I vote.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 12 October 2007 06:50 (eighteen years ago)

"bad"
"undeserved"
"terribly overrated"

Geir knows me all too well, I'm sad to say.

JN$OT, Friday, 12 October 2007 07:26 (eighteen years ago)

"You've Got It Bad Girl", but I'd vote for the version of "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" with horns.

The Reverend, Friday, 12 October 2007 17:45 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Monday, 15 October 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Bet I'm just about the only one who ONLY likes "Sunshine of my Life"

the next grozart, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

but I'd vote for the version of "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" with horns

... really? That's the version that really put the final nail in the coffin for me.

Eric H., Tuesday, 16 October 2007 02:16 (eighteen years ago)

I was familiar with the horn version first and I love it. The album version sounds incomplete without them.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

Those horns sound like love. That's all there is to it.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

I can almost live with this, but "Lookin For Another Love" not getting one vote?!?

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 23:02 (eighteen years ago)

Predicably, the worst track won. But lots of beautiful melodic ballads just behind it. They were what made this album so great.

Geir Hongro, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

Predicably, the worst track won.

Geir, you're insane!

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 00:00 (eighteen years ago)

I have to admit, I've never felt "I Believe."

Eric H., Wednesday, 17 October 2007 00:38 (eighteen years ago)

... but then, I still don't quite feel this one as an album, not like everything that followed (not even like Music of My Mind)

Eric H., Wednesday, 17 October 2007 00:39 (eighteen years ago)

That's exactly how I feel about Fulfillingness, but, I suspect, this'll change.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

hey rev, where can i hear the horns version of "you are the sunshine of my life"?

Lingbert, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

They were added in when it was released as a single.

The Reverend, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:13 (eighteen years ago)

No votes for "Tuesday Heartbreak"? That would have been my pick (possibly "Supersition" is better though).

o. nate, Thursday, 18 October 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

How come people like the worst track all the time?

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 18 October 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

FALSE GEIR

The Reverend, Thursday, 18 October 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

LOL @ weirdoes who don't like "Superstition"

Tom D., Thursday, 18 October 2007 15:35 (eighteen years ago)
