* The song was featured in "Weird Al" Yankovic's medley "Angry White Boy Polka" on his 2003 album Poodle Hat - however, the word "fuck" is censored with a squeaky sound effect, similar to what Al did with Nine Inch Nails' "Closer To God" in his medley "The Alternative Polka" on his album Bad Hair Day.
* On a 2000 episode of SNL the song was featured in a Culp Family Musical Performances skit with the word "fuck" replaced with "fork".
* Christian Parody band ApologetiX, released a parody of this song titled Life Restored. According to the band, they have modified the original song's "homicidal tendencies".
* Wrestler Sick Nick Mondo used this as his theme in CZW until his retirement from wrestling in 2003.
* Richard Cheese covered the song on his record Lounge Against the Machine.
* In the music video there are many posters for radio station KRXQ 98 ROCK. This is the rock station out of Sacramento, CA that Papa Roach credit for jump starting their career. Inside the "Infest" booklet are thanks to DJs of the radio station.
* Metallica's Kirk Hammett claims that the main riff of the song is a rip-off of the Iron Maiden song, Hallowed Be Thy Name[1].
* Also many Tourniquet fans believe the main riff is a rip-off from the song Ark of Suffering by Tourniquet, as the riff at 3.13 off the song comes freaky close to the riff from Last Resort.

i sort of felt sorry for the singer. you can understand why he was so pissed off, looking like that.

max r, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:44 (seventeen years ago)

He had a really big house when he was on Cribs though, so it balances itself out

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:47 (seventeen years ago)

My friend interviewed the singer for NME and got him to talk about his habitual bedwetting as a teenager. I don't know if anyone has ever identified a moment where nu-metal reached a self-parodic point of no return, so I'm gonna go for that one

DJ Mencap, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:55 (seventeen years ago)

I remember at school this was the only nu-metal track that the trance kids had love for... maybe Papa Roach could have bridged the greebo/townie divide if they'd have continued longer?

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:56 (seventeen years ago)

Also in the unlikely event this thread hits the skids I will be happy to talk about Christian Parody band ApologetiX instead

DJ Mencap, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:57 (seventeen years ago)

Come one, come all.

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:58 (seventeen years ago)

ALSO Papa Roach are totally still going, the dream is still alive

DJ Mencap, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:58 (seventeen years ago)

"Christian Parody band ApologetiX"

are they:

christians who parody other bands

or

a band that parodies christians?

max r, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:59 (seventeen years ago)

"Specializes in biblical parodies of rock hits from the 60s through the 90s and today."

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 13:59 (seventeen years ago)

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 14:00 (seventeen years ago)

I always liked this song!

HI DERE, Friday, 12 October 2007 14:01 (seventeen years ago)

I voted "keep", but it nearly loses me when it turns into a funk metal track at the end.

Dom Passantino, Friday, 12 October 2007 14:03 (seventeen years ago)

the video for this song is ugh

the way he emphasises the last syllable of the title as "this is my last re-ZORT!" always makes me think of Pinky & The Brain. someone plz make a Pinky Roach youtube mashup.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 12 October 2007 18:00 (seventeen years ago)

also pretty much every other Papa Proach single (especially "To Be Loved" and "Forever") is better than this song.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 12 October 2007 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

Papa don't proach

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 October 2007 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

latebloomer, Friday, 12 October 2007 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

btw do radio DJs still call this band "P-Roach"? I haven't heard that in a while, it used to crack me up to hear dudes in high school make references to "pee roach".

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 12 October 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

it's the hard rock counterpart of Pee Diddy!

stephen, Friday, 12 October 2007 20:06 (seventeen years ago)

Pee, Did He?

stephen, Friday, 12 October 2007 20:06 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Friday, 12 October 2007 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

There should really be a poll option for "I don't give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding"

kingkongvsgodzilla, Saturday, 13 October 2007 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

SUFFOCATION
NO BREATHING

I hated this when it came out, but its really grown on me. ESPECIALLY in relation to their every other belch.

da croupier, Saturday, 13 October 2007 00:27 (seventeen years ago)

thought that power ballad about how the problem is that he cares too much has some ironic charm.

da croupier, Saturday, 13 October 2007 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

KEEP.

The Reverend, Sunday, 14 October 2007 06:04 (seventeen years ago)

the riff at 3.13 off the song comes freaky close to the riff from Last Resort.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 14 October 2007 06:37 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's probably too soon for this sort of thing. But I do wonder when the last few generations of modern emo/screamo/hardcore/metalcore, and other assorted haircut rock genres will be able to come to terms with the fact that they used to geuinely like this stuff and there is nothing wrong with that.

DustinR, Sunday, 14 October 2007 11:59 (seventeen years ago)

Malianteo is a sub-genre of Reggaeton. It is a fusion of Reggaeton, and Rapcore. It's lyrics tend to deal with violence.

The Reverend, Sunday, 14 October 2007 15:12 (seventeen years ago)

That sounds like the worst genre ever.

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 14 October 2007 15:22 (seventeen years ago)
