i'm DJing playing records at the after party of a free event in the glasgow film theatre tomorrow night - the whole day of events revolves around it being the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the UK.

i need recommendations for how to pitch it, i think i'm going with afro and caribbean/ south american influenced funk, reggae, disco and a wee bit of house. basically, nothing too off the wall but i need recommendations of afro etc influenced party records that will get people dancing. also the day is open to all cultures in the city and all events are free but ticketed so it needs to feel inclusive so i'm open to ideas for how to open the sound out to other cultural influences. for example i just found a funky track from an australian aborigine band that i will be playing.

so far i've got stuff from that Club Africa cd that came out on strut, stuff from that reggae disco comp on souljazz, manu dibango, Tony Allen, cesaria evora etc.

here's the page for the programme of events for the day. any advice or track recommendations highly appreciated. i hope jaxon and vahid are about to give recs!
