Out with it, ya stingy beat-misers!

(Keep your ears away from Julie Tippetts, okay? She's mine!)

I wanna share all my pet artists. Have you ever heard Mr. Ed's "Pretty Little Filly with the Ponytail"? It's rad.

I don't know about "not wanting to share them with the world," but every time I try to write about Souled American or the Stockholm Monsters, I freeze, because I like holding them in a sort of pre-critical oh-God-they're-so-great-there's-nothing-to-say-besides-oh-God-they're-so-great stasis. And I don't talk about Eric La Casa much, though I think he roolz.

I didn't know you were a Souled American fan, John. How very cool! They are worthy of going on about, if the words can be found. :-)

Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi, because the rest of the world just wouldn't understand, and they'd go back to their Ikara fucking Colt CDs instead.

Don't even THINK of listening to Abba!!! They're all mine!!!

Souled American are fabulous!!! Thank you tUMULT and Aquarius Records for bringing this to my attention.

Let see. If you can find it one of the great unsung records from the sixties is the Italian psych-prog act Le Orme's fabulous Ad Gloriam. The title track got kind of poorly sampled on a David Holmes track, I think, but the original is fantastic. One of my favorite songs ever.

Attention. I have Kidnapped all four members of ABBA, and all the members of Bjorn Again. If you want to see them alive, send me an autographed photo of Jesus Christ, or I start bumping them off in alphabetical order.

Oh well, c'est la vie. Fuck 'em. Start the killings.

I think this is very interesting with regard to UK hip hop - seems to be a marked reluctance among scenesters to want it to go the same way as UK garage. A unique and different sound is emerging but with a remarkable lack of publicity - media coverage focuses on individual artists, well, Roots Manuva to be precise rather than on a 'scene' - wonder if this is down to artists' reluctance to talk to press rather than lack of interest by the media...

After Murder Park by the Auteurs is an unsung masterpiece whose time will come!
