Album covers where the band/artist is lookin' utterly bogus

I once saw the front cover of some prog rock album by a distinguinshed prog band (I think it was either ELP or Yes) where the band members were all in cheesy disco outfits with their chest hair hanging out, trying desperately to look sexxxy...but instead looked nauseous.
Ah...and if you ever look at the band photo inside of Metallicas Kill 'Em All you'll never be able to look at that band th same way again. Hetfield looks like such a glue sniffing cretin there.

Just when I thought I'd recovered from the Ma$e cover, Alex had to put up that Manowar cover!

Dan Perry, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That Manowar cover is shocking.

In a wonderful, wonderful way, the best is Louis Prima's The Call Of The Wildest! I must, MUST scan it in sometime soon for you all to glory in it. Otherwise, country music is king of this thread: if you've never seen Carl and Pearl Butler, when middle-aged (and they were butt-plain when young), in their matching rhinestone-encrusted trouser suits, you have lived a good life. Again, I will try to produce scans soon.

I guess they're trying to replicate that photograph of the Who, but, still, no excuse.

I don't get it...why did Boz Skaggs put Fred Schnieder on his album cover? Did Fred Schneider have to put Boz Skaggs on his solo record?

Lord Custos II, Friday, 26 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Let's see if this works for Louis Prima's The Call Of The Wildest, my favourite LP cover ever.

Martin Skidmore, Saturday, 27 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

If someone can tell me why that didn't work, I'll have another go. Sigh.

Martin Skidmore, Saturday, 27 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Or you could just visit the AMG site to see the cover of Louis Prima's The Call Of The Wildest. It's worth it, I promise!

Martin Skidmore, Saturday, 27 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00004S5DU.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Is this guy in Pantera? Or is it just some random guy jumping through flames with beer in one hand and a joint in the other, who also happens to be in his underwear FOR NO GOOD REASON?

Urg, that wasn't quite right.
