I'm surprised more of you aren't bonering over To Kill A Petty Bourgeoise, what with them being on Kranky and the gothing and noising and shoegazing and being awesome

saw them for the first time last night...really blown away...the new album is called The Patron, i think i saw cutty was listening to it on the noise board, but anyway this is pretty amazing stuff...mostly assembled live instrument/computer trickery...

mysterious and beautiful, ambient noise and goth vocals and big washes of guitar and effects pedals, layer after layer to lounge around in...

but anyway here is their myspace:

album is out on kranky right now, just bought it...

live they are alot different full band w/guitar bass drums and sometimes violin...the drummer who i play with in maps of norway is now going to be playing w./them live and he's great so if they come to your town check them out.

but yeah some of you real rock critics that people listen to should check these guys out and confirm for everyone so these guys can get more hyped.

Love the name. A class-conscious goth band, is that a first?

Listened to it yesterday. V. nice stuff.

I want to get this. Maybe I'll pick it up when I get more money.. They definitely deserve more hype than they're getting.

they were great live too, they sort of go for the approach that the live thing is completely different than the CD, much more of a rock band, but equally as cool i thought. it's probably best for the clubs they are playing, as it's always hard to come across doing just computers or electronics, given the limitations of the PA and people talking and drinking etc
