vibraphone with marimba close second

ciderpress, Sunday, 4 November 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

OTM.

I was watching the Zappa episode of "Classic Albums" this week and there's a LOT of focus on and interview time with Ruth Underwood. Really good stuff.

Well technically they're all struck idiophones.
I voted for Marimba, although the Xylophone as played by Patrick Moore comes a close second.

totally vibes

the last time i really enjoyed a ninetynine show was when lora still played the big vibraphone.. looks awesome and sounds beautiful

electricsound, Sunday, 4 November 2007 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

the vibes is the champion of all time

the only instrument that tops it in any context whatsoever is the pedal steel guitar

doctorfunktronic, Sunday, 4 November 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

Steel drums in the hands of experts can be astonishing in terms of pitched interlocking polyrhythms.

snoball, Sunday, 4 November 2007 23:13 (eighteen years ago)

Marimba. For Japan and Thompson Twins alone.
