Hard to choose between "End Of a Century" and "This Is a Low" but voted for the latter. "Tracy Jacks", "Badhead", "Magic America", "London Loves", "To The End" and "Clover Over Dover" are all great too, while the two biggest hits are somewhat overrated.

Geir Hongro, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:11 (eighteen years ago)

Tracy Jacks. Thank you.

Billy Pilgrim, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

This is a Low will steamroll this

I voted 'Trouble In The Message Centre', but the last 6 tracks are all superb.

XP "Lot 105" is suberb? :)

Geir Hongro, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:41 (eighteen years ago)

Well, it must be: "London Loves" isn't!

Mark G, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:49 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I wasn't gonna say "except Lot 105" because that would be nasty. I definitely didn't mean "London Loves" because it's one of the 5 worst songs Blur ever wrote.

Just got offed, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

"London Loves" is great. Not the greatest on this album, but still a great pop song. :)

Geir Hongro, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

Exactly, jgo!

Um, it sort of ends but carries on without doing anything particularly for another minute or so.

Mark G, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:01 (eighteen years ago)

gonna go with 'clover over dover'. only because i think it's my favourite at this moment

Charlie Howard, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:07 (eighteen years ago)

slice off the fat and u have the best pop album of the decade here i think.

To the End.

pisces, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:13 (eighteen years ago)

I'm voting for Girls & Boys. The song that gave birth to Poptimism, surely!!

Emily S., Monday, 5 November 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

My favourite track on Parklife keeps changing. I'll go with "End of a Century", which ties with "For Tomorrow" as their best single.

Duane Barry, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:35 (eighteen years ago)

this is a low

stephen, Monday, 5 November 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

TIAL has one of the genuinely great guitar-solos, but I find TITMC to be a more affecting song. Dunno why.

Just got offed, Monday, 5 November 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

TIAL

The only version of Girls & Boys I listen to is the PSB mix, but if I remember the original correctly it's still probably the one I'd vote for.

musically, Monday, 5 November 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

"End of a Century".

Simon H., Monday, 5 November 2007 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

"Badhead" by miles.

DavidM, Monday, 5 November 2007 17:07 (eighteen years ago)

"Message Center." Just a great song.

paulhw, Monday, 5 November 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

"Tracy Jacks," no question.

billstevejim, Monday, 5 November 2007 21:26 (eighteen years ago)

SUCH a cruel poll. The whole album reminds me distinctly of England, even though I've never been there and heard it at the same time. Clover Over Dover absolutely reeks of Dover. London Loves reeks of London. The Debt Collector is my ringtone.

In the end I went for Magic America because it's so true it's scary, as relevant now as it was then, etc.

Autumn Almanac, Monday, 5 November 2007 22:06 (eighteen years ago)

never been there = not been there

Autumn Almanac, Monday, 5 November 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

Way more relevant. This was the Clinton-era after all.

Geir Hongro, Monday, 5 November 2007 23:34 (eighteen years ago)

Non-Americans are just as mesmerised by their heightened idea of America now as they were then.

Autumn Almanac, Monday, 5 November 2007 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, so it's not more relevant now than it was then, as it's not about America at all.

Mark G, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 09:55 (eighteen years ago)

Be it Badhead... not an easy choice.

zeus, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

i think it's 'badhead'.

rinsed this aged 13, not so much recently.

For once I find myself not disagreeing with Geir. I'm voting for 'Badhead' as that's the one I've always liked the most, but if I had to listen to a track right now I'd pick 'Magic America'.

Nasty, Brutish & Short, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

What a great album. I'd like to vote for the cover art, but as you didn't make that an option, Geir, I choose Clover Over Dover. I think it probably is my favourite, just shading Girls & Boys and This Is A Low, and I'm assuming that those will get more votes anyway.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

"tracy jacks" is not only the best song on Parklife, it's the best song by Blur.

zaxxon25, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 23:29 (eighteen years ago)

Clover Over Dover

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Monday, 12 November 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

Great winner. And interesting how every single track apart from the instrumentals and the awful "Bank Holiday" have gotten at least one vote.
