The cover of the album was photographed at Wardour Old Castle in Wiltshire, England, featuring Hrímnir, an Icelandic horse Sting owned for a period.

THE 1990s POLL RESULTS - THE ALBUMS

Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 5 November 2007 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

There's way too much freaky karma floating around here ... Dr. Bill mentions StEt, and they show up next ... Billy mentions B&S vote splitting, and they show up next ... I'm starting to think that Gear is monitoring the thread discussion and making up the list as we go along ... :)

I actually own this, strangely enough (though I haven't heard it since 1993). Therefore, I hereby disqualify myself from voting in this poll.

I don't even want to guess how many times I heard this album in the back of my dad's car at the age of 11. It's maybe Sting's best or second-best solo album (although that's not really saying much). Not sure what I'd vote for here, probably the first or last song.

maybe i should have just posted this on the neo-balearic thread

The beginning of the end for Sting artistically. "Fields Of Gold" is still a beautiful song though.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

"They all like Gameshow hosts to me" ? (If I ever lose etc)

Mark G, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 09:53 (eighteen years ago)

I guess that's when they turned against him then. His first three solo albums received largely good reviews. It was from "Ten Summoner's Tales" that his luck with the critics started to fade. And for a good reason, if you compare the quality (his first three solo albums were actually quite good even though his creative apex remains "Synchronicity")
