saw them tonight at the Lab, probably the best live performance of "White Like Heaven" i've ever heard-- the throbbing went straight to the bones. awesome.

seriously jealous. haven't had much contact with E recently but I'm hoping they/she'll book a UK/Europe tour sometime soon. They haven't been here since December 07 so I think we're due a visit.

sort of an oregon thing too. i was in a rural bar last summer and witnessed this dude (with a hitler stache to boot) drunkenly slagging off cali-to-oregon transplants only to then tearfully admit that he was one too. he also said that he cross dressed "with the best of them." then he got kicked out.

haha yes growing up in Seattle area my dad always bitched about the Californian influx, somehow ignoring the fact that he was from Cali. Now my brother and I both live in the golden state, completing the boring circle i guess.

Back to EMA, is anything else here remotely as righteous as this song or will I be disappointed when I listen to the whole album?

"california"'s a peak but "marked" and the closing track are also huge.

California works better with video. I found the song a bit boring without the visuals. A bit like INXS or something. Similarly I was bored by the album- fell asleep on my couch. Like Grey Ship though. Maybe I need to try it again.

Disagree. Listening to this now, sounds pretty damn perfect to me.

I saw that band so many times in 2007.

Very curious to know how she is live. There seems to have been a major PR dropping of the ball in that regard in the US. Her current live plans are a short tour in June opening for (FFS!) Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
