i JUST finished listening to the OGC album. it's not that great. i've never heard the group home cd :(

jaxon, Monday, 12 November 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

OGC fo me.
Group Home lyrics is kinda weak IIRC

carne asada, Monday, 12 November 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

jaxon you're nuts!!

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

you were listening to "da storm", right??

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

ok someone start posting malachi the nutcracker lyrics asap

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

Yo is a wonderful world, a world of wonder
I thunder and thunder I won't go under

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

Swing the mic live in trife do what you like
I hit your moms in the head with a metal pipe

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

i think that beat was nice though.

carne asada, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

Malachi's alright, but Lil' Dap is kinda lame. That lisp is not winning either.

Lolpez, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

i think beatminerz vs dj premier deserves some consideration too ...

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

ha i found the s0ulstrut compilation thread of melachi lyrics:

encourage your kids to keep up the good work
assist your child to not be a jerk

i think beatminerz vs dj premier deserves some consideration too ...

contemplating this right now.

i was just listening to "Next Level (Nyte Time Mix)" that beat with A.G.'s opening verse is very much the sickness

carne asada, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

lol what a choice

group home were kinda funny to laugh along with while ogc didnt really have anything to recommend them

jhøshea, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

premier kills beatminerz to me but thats kind of a boring opinion

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

if you're not here to take sides get off my thread

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:06 (eighteen years ago)

i listened to 'The M-Pire Shrikez Back'. the album's not bad at all, just doesn't compare to prime boot camp stuff. are the beatminerz even on this? i think that's my fault with it.

jaxon, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

styles and styles I flip, lil dap remains hip

dmr, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

ogc were the one w/the guy called starang wondah right - he was alright

jhøshea, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

gunn clappa numba one!!!

max, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i gotta go w/ OGC here, da storm is a good record and i can actually deal with the rapping. beats are good on both, i'd take premier instrumentals first tho

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

"supa star" instrumental!!

carne asada, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

but the production on "da storm" is so moist and wet and deep, and the bass notes are so thick and warm!

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 22:53 (eighteen years ago)

are you looking for rap beats or a humidifier?

deej, Monday, 12 November 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

oh damn deej thanks for that melechi thread

you gotta put your mind
on achieve mode
go for your goals
BOOM BOOM

M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 12 November 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

can you recommend me a humidifier??

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 23:53 (eighteen years ago)

i just realized that starang wondah sounds a lot like jeru. it's endearing.

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 18:51 (eighteen years ago)

did the beatminerz do anything worthwhile other than black moon and this one?

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

ive outed myself as a bigtime nerd here because i've decided these are my two of my favorite albums

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

deej, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

deej, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

assist your child to not be a jerk

deej, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

heltah skeltah = mostly baby paul and mr walt, right? this is on my list.

smif'n'wessun = i always forget about these guys!

BCC i thought was produced by buckshot and boogie brown?

i guess maybe my question is did DJ EVIL DEE IN YOUR AREA ever do anything else good?

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 21 November 2007 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah sorry I just meant those first four (or five if you count the Black Moon remixes/rarities thing) BCC albums. After '96 I think that a lot of the production got farmed out although they were still doing tracks here and there.

the 1st group home album has a special place in my heart. i think it's premier's finest full-length production (although guru does one track), and while the lyrics of malachai and dap may be semi-retarded, they're also sincere and endearing.

beatminerz camp have done some amazing stuff and are underrated though.

one time gaffled 'em up (one time), Friday, 5 February 2010 22:13 (fifteen years ago)

five years pass...

and while the lyrics of malachai and dap may be semi-retarded, they're also sincere and endearing.

without em it wouldn't be like an actual perfect rap album but it matters like almost 0% what any particular lyric is, the production just requires lyrics
