i saw that there were threads for her other albums, so i figured i should start one for this.

i keep listening to this again and again, ever since i saw her live recently. i really like all of her music, but this one comes out on top for me. it hangs together more than some of her other work and i appreciate the richer sound (though jim white's presence has made sure her last couple of albums aren't exactly stripped-down).

I prefer Run to Ruin but it's good.

I have listened to this album straight through about 25 times in the last 6 weeks.

this was my favourite by far, but the new Jim White one is warming me so much with its closeness and humanity. there's something more stirring for me right now in a touch on the face than in a stormcloud moving in.

i'm not sure that this record is underrated (those who know it seem to recognize its excellence), but rather criminally unknown!

what Hurting said although "prefer" is putting it mildly - RtR is a masterpiece.

Which one has "Brad Haunts a Party" on it? That song is devastating.

On Leaving but i think the song is much older than the album.

i hear a lot of people say they love this one far more than the rest. but i don't. i like it a lot, but i probably like run to ruin, on leaving, and maybe the new one more...but they are all so good it's hard to pick.

Hard to say which is her best, but this one's a contender ;)

This has the warped Huck Finn southern gothic aesthetic to the greatest extent, an unsettling sense of expectation and a weird oppressive airiness.

"Ugly Face"!!!
