POLISH TECHNO

I'm going to come out and admit that I've been listening to ridiculous, cheesy polish techno on and off for the past two years. Anthemic, pandering techno anthems with predictable breakdowns in the Darude manner. It's a guilty pleasure. Here are some of the tracks that I recommend for other closeted fans of ridiculous eastern European techno (aka "polski power dance"):
Tropic - "Dotykaj Mnie"
D-Bomb - "Chce"
Jam Boxx - "Dlaczego Bylem Trzeci (Oh Ewa)"
Q-Bass and MP Project - "Zawsze"
Sumptuastic - "Cisza"

Jam Boxx is especially fruity. Many of these are on the comp albums you can find. Also some Max Fahrenthide and Exterminal. Not sure if those guys are even Polish. These songs are like drinking a gallon of Pepsi and eating a handful of Mars bars, sonically. I cannot help it. Are there others like me, loving the cheesy anthem madness? Is Poland the wrong place for techno madness - should I be searching for Romanian techno perhaps? Bulgarian techno?

It kind of sounds like your talking more so about anthemic-trance than techno, but I can't say, as I don't know any of the things you mentioned.

That being said, Poland has actually put out some really good non-cheese techno, like Jacek Seinkiewicz for instance, who is great, and "Earthworm" by SLG is a good track I incidentally just heard yesterday. Anyone heard any of the recent output by 3 Channels? I picked up an 12" by them in the summer in a record store clearance sale and was kind of interested.

yep, this is anthemic-trance from Poland and I imagine people with more knowledge and background in other techno generes wouldn't like it. I will check out this Jacek and SLG.

sienkiewicz is really really good, love his stuff, though it doesn't bear much relation to what this stuff sounds like. or what it sounds like it sounds like. you know what i mean.

i'm actually off to krakow next week, will see what i discover. for those wishing to research polish producers you might find some leads on www.unsound.pl.

SLG is very good, the scene in Lodz and Warsaw are especially promising... Lodz particularly because it is the largest Polish city close to Berlin.

also yeah, none of the stuff you mentioned is techno, more super cheesy trance and dumbo hardcore. not that i have a problem with either, just not my thing.
