I'd be surprised if "The One" isn't a single.

Starts well, dips a bit at the halfway mark. The thick-as-custard production seems to replace the need for melody here and there.

"The One," "Sensitized," and "Heartbeat Rock" are wonderful. I don't remember if album includes the mix of "2 Hearts" that Rich Juzwiak posted on his site a few weeks ago.

"Wow" is top shelf, despite sounding like a Light Years off-cut.

The album is great btw, THE ONE is song of the year, no question. Nu-Di-Ty is dreadful, and Speakerphone isn't much better but other than that lets give it 4 patronising petridis thumbs up.

quite a few of these tracks could've been on Blackout and a few other things just as easily esp. Speakerphone, Heart Beat Rock, All I See and obv. Nu-di-ty. seeing this as good thing tho.

after my initial disappointment (probably caused by the fact that 2 hearts was just damn fine to start the album with), i have fallen under this albums spell.
i love it.

Speakerphone, No More Rain and The One (which was produced by the FREEMASONS) are all aces. My favorite is actually a track that didn't make the cut, "In The Mood For Love," produced by Mylo.

Is "Wow" really the next single? :( if so.

Shake Down (or Shakedown, I guess) is an album too...Unmixed, IIRC, is just a collection of songs they've mixed in their unmixed form, most of them originally appearing in their mixed form on Shakedown.

i actually rather like 'Wow'. the piano intro came on just after i had been listening to Kiki Dee's 'Star' and they're curiously similar.

you see, for all the bad press this album got, X has grown on me a lot more than Tangled Up.

Jesus, that "Heart Beat Rock" Benny Blanco Remix with Spank Rock on it is so amazing.

Still waiting for the feted Freemasons remix of "The One" - I'm assuming the original + more drama.

Love the plasticky sound of the riffs on "In My Arms", but I think the chorus is a bit of a let down. Both of which aspects make sense given it's a Calvin Harris production job.
