"Electric Warrior" vs. "Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars"

Both are great records, but I think "Electric Warrior" has aged well in comparison to "Ziggy Stardust". Warrior has retained its freshness where as Ziggy in spots, sounds dated. What do you think?

Electric Warrior's only my second favorite T. Rex LP, while Ziggy Stardust's my favorite (glam-era) Bowie LP, so I guess Ziggy Stardust, but almost too close to call.

Two of the greatest records of all time. Still love both, and always will!

Pidge speaks my mind, so I will say no more for now, as I am sleepy. Tomorrow I might be more coherent.

'Ziggy''s got some great tunes, too bad the singing and production are abysmal

dave q, Friday, 26 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What's wrong with the singing on Ziggy? The only real flaw with the album is the truly horrendous "It Ain't Easy."

from Merriam-Webster:

Main Entry: abys·mal Pronunciation: &-'biz-m&l, a- Function: adjective Date: circa 1656 1

a

: having immense or fathomless extension downward, backward, or inward <an abysmal cliff>

b

: immeasurably great : PROFOUND <abysmal ignorance>

c

: immeasurably low or wretched <abysmal living conditions of the poor>

so...which one are you reffering to dave q?

on the subject: both are terrific albums, though in the last few years i have been playing ew quite a lot ('cause me lady luvs it) whereas ziggy has been gathering dust... nonono, wrong, sorry. ziggy has been replaced by the EXCELLENT bbc-comp!

Aladdin Sane is better than both of them.

Aladdin Sane is better than both of them.

Well, yes, but so is The Slider. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 26 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

true dat!

J Blount, Friday, 26 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hey Ned, Good answer.

James H., Friday, 26 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They're both brilliant records, but I agree that "Aladdin Sane" and "The Slider" are both better.

Electric Warrior. Every song had me immediately.

six years pass...

I'm just hearing "Electric Warrior" for the first time and liking it approximately 100x more than Ziggy

My friend mentioned the Ziggy song "Five Years" the other week, and I couldn't believe it. One of my all time fave David Bowie songs. Like out of two or three.

I understand T. Rex trips, though, Hoos. No, I understand. Don't worry about it at all, I won't argue.

Electric Warrior sounds better to me, though I listened to Ziggy enough to wear it out way back when.
