my little Year In Review thing

i was trying to figure out a way to post this on ILM but couldn't figure it out. i think this board is too big and the taste is too broad to do YiR on this board. my Year In Review thing mainly concentrates on indie rock and because of that it would never work on ILM. i feel it's a great resource to go over what was released this year. i'm not posting this to hype that board, mainly posting it so you can look at the first post that was posted. because of this, from a boarder, i decided to post it on ILM so you can take a look.

"Thanks for these threads, Bee.
Getting me to revisit (or, in this case, visit) some things I overlooked or forgot about.
Nice work."

Who the hell are you?

"Thanks for these threads, Bee.
Getting me to revisit (or, in this case, visit) some things I overlooked or forgot about. Like the fucking Arcade Fire.
Nice work."

A+ would read again

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 22 November 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

I think you should "Bee" posting less, "OK"?

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 22 November 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

ion't know, i think it would be pretty cool to have twenty new threads on this forum for new discussion of each of these albums

If there's any rap album you might have overlooked this year, it's probably Kanye!

da croupier, Thursday, 22 November 2007 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

this makes sense cuz we def didn't discuss justice or lcd on this board.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:27 (eighteen years ago)

Bee Ok, have you heard of a band called RadioBread? They're awesome.

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

i think you mean "radiohead". what was their album from this year called?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

In Utero

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

In da Club

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

Something like that.

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, guys.

Whiney G. Weingarten, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, this is ridiculous even for ILM

Matos W.K., Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

I know he offended you all by posting something innocuous on a message board thread that you really didn't have to click on once, let alone over and over again. I hope we can all get through this tragedy!

Whiney G. Weingarten, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:27 (eighteen years ago)

Eh, I have been unnecessarily dickish here lately. I think I might need to get away from ILX for a while.

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

fwiw BeeOK has been around for a while, hell even I recognized the username.

seriously, i'm not exactly sure what the point of this is, esp. by someone who has been on here for a while. reposting pitchfork and stylus reviews of the most well-known indie albums of the year? are we supposed to care what the people on the other board think of these albums? are we supposed to talk about justice and feist again?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 22 November 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

jens, the field and lcd are three of my favorite albums of the year. kanye and andrew bird sounded really awesome to me for the first few weeks i heard them but i haven't played either in forever. i think there are 3 or 4 really great songs on feist's record but the rest is really unmemorable. kings of leon record was meh but they have a very good, polished live show. hated modest mouse, thought wilco and new pornos were C+ at best. didn't like TGTBTQ but i really can't stand damon albarn. haven't heard the rest.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 22 November 2007 20:03 (eighteen years ago)

sorry we were mean to the spammer, whiney.

da croupier, Thursday, 22 November 2007 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

not spam, just a retarded thread.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 22 November 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

no linking to your "my year in review" posts from another board are spam. and putting an example of how we can thank you is something most viagra merchants don't really have the balls for.

da croupier, Thursday, 22 November 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

didn't care for this at all. A couple of songs were good.

I didn't really give it a chance tho. It just sounds so fucking dated.

well at least now we know:

KANYE WEST IS NOT THE FUTURE OF HIP HOP.

Kanye's production is by far the worst part about him

he's gay too. But that's not bad these days..

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 November 2007 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

For this year's lists that have been popping up over the last couple weeks, I've found the King of Leon record to be the perfect sign that I should skip and move on to the next list. It's like a beacon that signals to me that I don't/can't relate to this person.

Bus Driver Stu, Thursday, 22 November 2007 23:39 (eighteen years ago)

There seems to be one of those every year.

The Reverend, Friday, 23 November 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

He posted links to another message board, da croupier, not his private blog. If he's spamming anything, he's spamming his opinions. I mean, yes, everyone agrees he should have really posted it in the Pazz/Jackin 07 thread, but a simple link to that would get the point across instead of a board dogpile on an enthusiastic dude who's only like 5% more overeager with his opinions than most ilxors.

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:03 (eighteen years ago)

Bee OK is an OK dude is all I'm sayin'.

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:03 (eighteen years ago)

it was a stupid, stupid thing to do. somehow, after having a few too many drinks, i talked myself into making this thread. it would have never happened if i was sober. just look at it like a drunken rant and move on. it won't happen again as i have too much respect for this board.

sorry ILM.

Bee OK, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:45 (eighteen years ago)

I mean, yes, everyone agrees he should have really posted it in the Pazz/Jackin 07 thread

I never said that.

if you're gonna get drunk, do something stupid, and then apologize for it the next day, you should come up with something much more colorful. Get out there and really live it up!

QuantumNoise, Friday, 23 November 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah! (throws cushion)
