Although I searched for this with no results, I apologize if this has been done already. Aside from the well know acts like New Order, Section 25, A Certain Ratio etc...I'm more intersted in finding out about lesser know artist. Life, Rinôçérôse, Swinging Buildings, Crawling Chaos, Eric Random, Devine & Statton, Black And Blue, Soft Verdict, The Lost Jockey.....Also any of the other smaller labels like Dancyclopaedia, Harlem Moon, Él (Benelux) all sublabels of Les Disques Du Crépuscule.

I love the Lavvi Ebbel single Telepathia and some tracks off the lp Kiss Me Kate.

A lot of this is discussed on the LTM thread. A great place to start would be the 'Umbrellas in the Sun' DVD.

I was hoping for this to be a 12" thread.

I met Annick Honoré the other day!
― baaderonixx, Friday, 23 November 2007 23:32 (eighteen years ago)
Neat! What was she like? Friendly sort?
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 23 November 2007 23:35 (eighteen years ago)
Beautiful and classy. Obv. I didn't mention the JD word(s)

was hoping this thread would actually have some searching and destroying going on, this label has a huge and intimidatingly-awesome looking back catalog. is this a if-you-can-find-it-buy-it type scenario? and even if that's the case, where to start with the lesser knowns? i tried looking through that ltm thread but figured more people would respond if i bumped this one, plus i don't want to limit the discussion to stuff on les disques du crepuscule that was reissued on ltm, etc.

living in Brussels I often stumble on old crepuscule lp's, which I usually buy on sight. Two first Anna Domino albums are probably my favorite releases. I'd also recommend the "Hommage to Duras" comp, which is pretty much impossible to find irl but available here and there on teh interweb.

Okay, I just got the Auteur Crépuscule comp. I totally love the Thick Pigeon. So overwhelmed.

Try to find 'Too Crazy Cowboys' by Thick Pigeon!! It's very good, almost electro at times.
― JacobSanders, Friday, 15 April 2011 22:13 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah, that Auteur Labels series is pretty great, though the last Factory dance period comp wasn't my cup of tea. The IPR comp is outstanding.

Anyone heard this?
― willem, Tuesday, 28 February 2012 09:02 (thirteen years ago)
nope but I like what I'm hearing!

i bought it as a result of other music's gushing description and the fact that they are a scottish act i'd long, long forgotten about. OM described it as 23 skidoo meets antena and while there is a lot of percussion in places it's definitely nearer antena than skidoo. the production is outstanding and it's a really dreamy listen.

Forced Nostalgia has released some awesome stuff lately. Get the Pelican Daughters and Ciccolina Holocaust if you can find them. As for Crepuscule, get the Divine and Stratton re-issues especially if your a fan of the Young Marble Giants or Weekend.

Glad to see the guy from LTM has picked up the mantle - such a classic label.

Very sad news -- cofounder Annik Honoré has passed. (Even though she'll still only be seen inevitably as 'the other woman' in Ian Curtis's life, a stupid and reductive label.)

It's a bit too far in the other direction to call her relationship with Ian a 'brief friendship' when it's clear their relationship significantly contributed to the dissolution of his marriage with Debbie that combined with his illness ultimately led to his death. It's great to highlight her contributions but don't try to rewrite the truth about her role in the final year+ of his life.

Considering I didn't write that, your objections should be delivered to the author.
― Ned Raggett, Thursday, 3 July 2014 15:13 (eleven years ago)
Noted, dear person who wrote that, see previous comment.

RIP. As posted a few years ago on this thread, I had the chance to hang out a bit with her after a tuxedomoon gig. Very striking woman who was really postpunk royalty. Her influence on that weird 80s Brussels scene and Crepuscule always seemed much more interesting than that famous fling 35 years ago. I would still see her in the street once in a while, since we worked in the same area, always a beauty, never would have guessed she was ill. Very sad
