I got the Apple version of this, earlier this year.
It's funny seeing the apple label and the year of 1963 on it. Or whatever the year was...

"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" because it's an original song - and a great one at that.

I'm gonna go with "Marshmallow World"; as much as anything I've ever heard, it captures all the glee, apocalypse, etc., of the Wall of Sound.

I too vote for the favorite, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", but I don't see a little circle to vote in.

"White Christmas", by a mile. The problem with this album is that it gets worse as you go along, i.e. Side 1 >>>> Side 2. "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" never really did it for me.
The moments right after the pause in "White Christmas" are so tremendous ... where she sings "may all your Xmases be ... WHIIIIIIITTTTTE" and right then the band cues up again and Hal Blaine goes nuts -- this might be the best and most glorious 20 seconds of music that Spector ever made.

Didn't it do badly in release cause jfk got shot the same day? I don't want to WIKI and get the oficial waffle, but does anyone have first hand recollections?

First hand recollections? For that you'll have to wait for edd s hurt.

"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" fourthed or fifthed or wherever we are.
This album can also be used as the defacto second soundtrack to GoodFellas.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is probably one of my top ten favorite songs ever, so that.
The Bells of St. Mary is also really great and something I listen to all year round

I'll pass.
The wall of sound on Christmas-tunes is like seeing snow plow on the night before a school day.

Tmi Yuro otm about "Marshmallow World". Todd, I listen to this whole album year-round! Usually not all in one go, though.
I am pretty sure this record was my first real exposure to Spector, too.
xpost Christoff hates education, snowplows, and goodness, shunned!

...And fur godsakes i love holiday music, buked!
― christoff, Monday, 26 November 2007 17:49 (eighteen years ago)
xpost - I believe that record was released just days before the assassination, after which Spector pulled it from release for a few weeks or whatever, out of respect, and as a result its commercial impact was doomed. But I'm sure I'm forgetting some details. I was reading all about it just a few weeks ago.

I don't care how many times I hear this album. Sleigh bells, well, slays.

"Chrismas (Baby Please Come Home)" with "Frosty" a close second.
They should reissue it with this as a bonus track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9bg8xO7ndg

Marshmallow World - Darlene Love
The wall of sound on this whole album gives me such a head rush, went with Marshmallow World because I feel like I'm falling into a snow globe but I could really go with any of these
