Yes, I have tricked all of you into yet another emo thread.
WHATEVA.
"The Kaulitzes are sexy in a nonthreatening way, which explains their appeal to 'tweens but also a corresponding mountain of animosity. The biggest attacks are lobbed by boys, who sometimes target the music but more often go for Bill Kaulitz's gender ("Is he a girl?") and sexuality ("Is he gay?"). Many seem unable to comprehend why males would spend so much time on makeup and clothes, and simply cannot deal with Tom's androgyny."
ALSO: "Ready, Set, Go" is totally my kind of emo song. Echoes, broken hearts, vague lyrics about about trying to "break down this wall" plus a ripping, bitchin, explosive chorus: "THE SKY IS CHANGING; TOGETHER WE ARE ONE!"

It's killing me We die when love is dead It's killing We lost a dream we never had The world in silence and should forever feel alone Cause we are gone & we will never overcome
- Love is Dead
Dead/Had rhyme (I'm not joking) Alone/Overcome half-rhyme (Really!)
― Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 14:15 (eighteen years ago)
To me you'll be forever sacred I'm dying but I know Our love will live Your hand above Like a dove Over me Remember To me you'll be forever sacred
- Sacred
IT'S SAD BECAUSE IT'S TRUE

I don't know why I mock. I <3 this kind of melodramatic inanity.
I don't know how big these guys are elsewhere, but in France they are pretty much the second coming.

The last time I was in Covent Garden the crappy market stalls were *littered* with calendars and posters and god knows what else by this band. I'd never heard of them but they come off like a band born to be on a poster sold in Covent Garden

these guys were all over the damn place in germany ca. march 2006, at least
my roommate met a german guy who described TH as "the second worst thing to come from germany, after hitler"

we really did spend an absurd amount of time discussing the singer's gender
― impudent harlot, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)
Hey, the Brandenburg Buttboys RULE!!!
― Nubbelverbrennung, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 17:07 (eighteen years ago)
Oh god, they are terrible. I agree with baaderonix they are all over France.
I spent an absurd amount of time with a friend discussing the singer's sexuality. I think three days later he revealed he was gay.
― Jibe, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)
He posted on the band's official web page that he was gay, and about twenty minutes later the record company made him remove the posting. Since then, nothing, although I did hear Bill strangely non-deny his homosexuality ("we have no idea how that got out there"). The German fanlettes are still in denial, and the most obnoxious ever.
― Nubbelverbrennung, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 21:05 (eighteen years ago)
Got interrupted -- strange non-denial was on German tv, rumor has it the lover is MUCH older and is in the industry.

They re getting increasingly popular over here in The Netherlands, which is worrying me.

When I was in Latvia they were going to be playing a big concert in Riga. The girl I met there was really blase about it but assumed I knew who they were.
― I know, right?, Thursday, 20 March 2008 01:27 (seventeen years ago)
Do they sing in German?
Classy
Raus!

"i guess they are from germany, which makes sense in a way"
harsh, but true.
― Marco Damiani, Thursday, 24 July 2008 15:31 (seventeen years ago)
Hahah, ouch. (What would they have been like if they were from Italy?)

The last thing I would have expected! But why not! (It does also seem to be about one of the brothers having come out, visits home to Germany from LA and more besides. Hey, if it works.)
