What, no 'Mr Robot's Holy Orders'?

Oh well. I vote for 'The Cheerleaders' then. I love the horns.

MacDara, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 16:07 (eighteen years ago)

i love that nearly all of "project: mersh" is here. one of my all-time favorite allegedly bad albums. in honor if it, i'm voting for tour-spiel.

The Glory of Man, for doing so many of my favorite Minutemen things: crazy tight turns, ridiculous bass line and interplay with drums, fractured lyrics that make perfect sense, the way Boon delivers the poetry lyrics like he's reading a report and his stinging guitar.

Jesus and Tequila is a serious classic, but The Red and the Black rocks so hard... tough call

SchnappM, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 06:47 (eighteen years ago)

'Little Man', easily. This would be difficult if it was every track under 2 minutes.

Guilty_Boksen, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 13:01 (eighteen years ago)

No it wouldn't. I'd go for 'Search'.

MacDara, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

Or 'Static'. Okay, maybe you're right.

MacDara, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

The Punch Line

Mr. Que, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

"The Punch Line" is an epic 40 seconds. "Mr. Robot's Holy Orders" is 3 minutes, the dumbest ommission from the CD version of Double Nickels, with a great lyric by George Hurley. That would be my second or third choice after "The Glory of Man" and "Little Man With a Gun in His Hand." "Take Our Test" is one second short!

Pete Scholtes, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

I meant the whole album.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

What, no 'Mr Robot's Holy Orders'?

Damn, forgot about that one! My fault for using AMG as a reference source. They've only got the CD listing, no vinyl. And "live" versions of studio tracks were ineligible so the "Ballot Result" version was out. My (first-ever) poll, my rules.

"Take Our Test" is one second short!

Heh, I chose 2:45 as an arbitrary boundary specifically to exclude another dozen tracks in the 2:30-2:44 range. (Lazy.)

Oh, and why didn't I subhead this thread as "Ballot Result, Part 2"?
