In your own time, lads.

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 09:40 (eighteen years ago)

They had some good tunes in the 90s, none of their albums was a masterpiece, but nothing wrong with them either. Plus a festival gig they had here in 1998 or 1999 was one of the best I've ever attended.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 09:51 (eighteen years ago)

Hating ADF today is like hating Arrested Development - too easy.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 09:54 (eighteen years ago)

Because it's based more on hating the hype band got back then (which is justified, I guess) than the quality of the music itself.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 09:58 (eighteen years ago)

I saw them at a festival too, in the summer of 2000. I remember enjoying them, but not enough to go buy a record or anything. That, and I'd just wandered into the tent they were playing after seeing Yo La Tengo, so I was in a pretty good mood at the time.

I refuse to move on this until we get the Senser trials out of the way.

Also I wd like one copy of "Buzzin'" to be taken into consideration.

I want my money back from that all Talvin Singh stuff I lapped up.

baaderonixx, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

"I can't refund you this, it's been lapped!"

i still like Anokha (thinking about more than listening to but still)

blueski, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

i remember reading one audience review where the womans main complaint was that they werent sexy enough.

titchyschneiderMk2, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:03 (eighteen years ago)

When you're competing with Dodgy and Collapsed Lung you better be damn sure you look your best.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Collapsed Lung > Asian Dub Foundation > Dodgy

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:09 (eighteen years ago)

Is that on music or hotness?

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:11 (eighteen years ago)

Community Music is a fucking wicked album!

Scik Mouthy, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

Britishes Dub Foundation

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah Collapsed Lung had the better bass player. But "Buzzin'" is still a great single. Dodgy unquestionably last in either category.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

In ten years, I can't wait to steal Dom's headline and replace it with "Burial"

"ten years"

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

I was hoping that they'd turn up to apologise for repeatedly giving Cornershop positive reviews but after the latest Morrissey outburst, I'll have to wait another fucking ten years for that now.

King Boy Pato, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 10:01 (eighteen years ago)

adf fucking ruled dom, you cloth eared cynical piss-puddle [KISSES!]

stevie, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 10:03 (eighteen years ago)

No they sucked, and you gave them all those 10/10 reviews that could have gone to a proper band like Urusei Yatsura.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 10:21 (eighteen years ago)

its always either/or with you, isn't it? ADF at sheps bush 1997 (?) remains one of the best shows i've ever seen

stevie, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 11:29 (eighteen years ago)

Shall we list all the ADF songs that are as good as "Hello Tiger" then?

Oh wait, they're aren't any.

FACE.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 11:32 (eighteen years ago)

New Way New Life. Ta Deem. Riddim I LIke. To name three.

Scik Mouthy, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 11:43 (eighteen years ago)

urusei were okay, if you couldn't find any of your actual sonic youth albums, like.

stevie, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 12:03 (eighteen years ago)

oh snap

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 12:05 (eighteen years ago)

never listened to ADF but i liked how critical Chandrasonic was of bands like Travis in an NME round-table thing back in '99.

still like that DJ Scud remix of FunDaMental tho

blueski, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 12:06 (eighteen years ago)

proper band like Urusei Yatsura.

ROFL, and I quite like Urusei too.

Can't see why the hate for ADF, what they did they did very well, the singles were good, they were great when I saw them live, and I also saw them do a live soundtrack to La Haine which was excellent.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 12:18 (eighteen years ago)

The actual soundtrack to Le Haine's great enough as it is, that SupremeNTM track still kills it.

own3d!

I thought ADF were pretty good, but the hype they got was ridiculous at the time.
