"West End Girls" is such an obvious choice, and tonight (which is forever) it feels like the best one. Another seven or eight would do just as well.

Since you can find these songs in one form or another on other albums, let me put in a good word for "Was It Worth It?" Totally of its time, the perfect transition to Very, Neil's coming-out record. I always smile broadly in the last 45 seconds when Neil sighs "I don't know why/I never thought I'd fall in love."

I never tire of telling people that "Rent" is the best song ever written, and still suckas won't listen.

I love all these songs but I will vote for "Where The Streets Have No Name (I Can't Take My Eyes Off You)" because on Discography as an album its placement is impeccable and always a fist-pumping moment of boogie bliss.

Also, there's no way I can claim with a straight face it's the best track on the singles album of one of the best singles bands in history, but does anyone else feel "DJ Culture" is underrated? No? Just me?

It's the one song I skip. The piano runs before the chorus are pretty. The underrated one is "Love Comes Quickly."

Always on My Mind. A few years ago on the last day at a cruddy job I put that on and skipped down the street.

I'd vote for the whole album if I could. It is by far my favorite collection of songs ever released. But it'll have to be West End Girls.

"I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing" was their best single though.

BTW I prefer the way the songs were mastered for this one than for PopArt.

I do, although I think it's more like forgotten about. But it's an excellent track; particularly the background synths on the intro and the chorus.

I went with "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)", but it could just as easily have been "Rent" or "Being Boring" or almost any of them really. THE best singles collection ever.

yeah i think discography is like the decade of its time. a career-defining compilation. (at least, career to that point.) the pet shop boys are so good and so smart at what they do and the album gave them a chance to make that into an exclamation point. it was a classic as soon as you saw the tracklisting.

I love the version of "Heart" on this. But could easily have voted for "What Have I Done To Deserve This" or "Left To My Own Devices"
