accordeon

I used to hate accordeons with a passion, but I've come to realise that they're not only beautiful to look it, they can also work brilliantly if used sparingly and in the right hands. So what's your favourite example of accordeon use?

Doina Klezmer's "Sorja Tanz" is a great record of accordion, bass, violin and drums that I've been playing a lot recently. The instrument sounds gorgeous in that setting. Plus, those accordion & violin trade-off solos in one of the tracks are very entertaining. There are samples at their website.
If we count the bandoneon, then Astor Piazzolla certainly needs to be mentioned. _Rough Dancer & the Cyclical Night_ is probably the one I've played the most, though it's perhaps not as exciting as _Tango Zero Hour_
I'm also a sucker for Lars Hollmer (solo and in the various Samla-incarnations), though for some reason I've yet to buy anything by Accordion Tribe, which also features the great Guy Klucevsek and some other big names.

My turn.

James Yorkston's accordeonist is nice and understated.

Thanks for the recommendations, Oystein. I was wondering about Piazzola - he does get a lovely sound out of that thing.

Oops, looks like my poor spelling scuppered my search! Thanks, RS.
