First things first, I actually kind of like the mix that Bok Bok and crew did for Fact Magazine.
http://dot-alt.blogspot.com/2007/12/faggatronix-fact-end-of-year-mix.html#links
I just find some of the content and presentation a little troubling.
On Fact's home page there's a link to the mix with an image of a watermelon flashing over a GIF of Tyra Banks acting crazy.
Which is a little weird.
Then the actual mix contains a house remix of a Kink track denouncing rival soundboys as Batty men. Which you know is a little odd considering this mix is by a group called Faggatronix.
Then you throw in the whole Hollerboard thing with white design students remixing blatantly "street" tracks in a faux Baltimore style and all the racial dynamics that come associated with that whole debate.
It all starts to make my head hurt a little.
Not to mention that Bassline House has now brought us the wonderful new sub-genre of anti-gay house.

And that really makes my head hurt on a number of levels.
Is this just all a light hearted prank?
Am I prematurely entering fogey-hood or fun hating here?

is this the lollertronix thread that so many of us have been lobbying for (without bothering to actually start) for so very long?

This is me being bored on a Sunday afternoon, take that as you will.
X-post
Yeah I know I should ignore it, what winston hazel mix?

actually yeah ignoring it probably is the best way to quicken the process of that shit becoming this era's "illbient" for future generations to point and laugh at. it's just too tempting to point and laugh now, though.

Well I know its all a little "look at me, I'm controversial!"
But its getting talented producers contributing to the whole thing, Zomby made a couple decent-ish tracks before publicly getting on bad terms with dubstep.
I definitely like T2 and the L-VIS 1990 tracks I've heard.
I suppose if this were in anyway linked to Vice I'd be able to ignore it just fine.

look at new answers, siah, i started a thread on it called "looking for a specially trained team of ninjas with both drum and bass and bleep and bass trainspotting skills to help me launch an assault on dj winston hazel's "live at the electric chair" mix"

I know you mean Faggatronix having a Vice connection but there was a T2 interview in Vice last time I read it! Though they did just interview him about the movie Terminator 2 and make him look a bit silly talking about how he didn't envy the use of time travel in the film but he did think it was sick.
Tyra Banks and watermelon does sound a bit too much apotheosis of Barley for my brain to withstand so I'm glad I've never peeped it.
