I like the DEP and Qotsa albums ok enough I suppose but the Electric Wizard, High On Fire and Baroness are way better than everything on that list and should be the top 3. Obviously shitloads of good albums are missing. The writers are only allowed to vote for albums that Kerrang reviewed so clearly are limited to what good stuff they can list. But Anything is better than Biffy fucking Clyro.

Is that new Municipal Waste any good? I liked the last one.
― Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 12:55 (eighteen years ago)
I always get Biffy Clyro mixed up with Rilo Kiley but since they both shit it's all good.

Hey, I own two of these, much to my surprise/amusement.

I have the Electric Wizard, High On Fire, Baroness, Dillinger Escape Plan and Qotsa. the last 2 Im not sure I'd have in a top 20.
― Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 13:34 (eighteen years ago)
I cant believe anyone would vote Biffy Clyro as album of the year.
― Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 15:23 (eighteen years ago)
That Thrice album is pretty bitchin.
― Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea what Biffy Clyro sound like, but their name sure makes me laugh.
― Ioannis, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

5 Every Time I Die - The Big Dirty (Ferret)
This is a really great album.

Biffy Clyro's name is a spoonerism of "Cliffy Biro", or "Biro resembling Cliff Richard". FACT.
― Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah that M Waste album is pretty bitchin'

Hey Louis, that HMV guy really did have his finger on the pulse.

I always thought Kerrang championed Oceansize. I feel betrayed.
― Just got offed, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 23:54 (eighteen years ago)
haha. They probably didn't bribe the appeal to the writers who voted Biffy Clyro.

i do indeed, but i spent so much of this year working on my book (in shops february, dudes, makes for a fine valentines day present) that i just didn't feel i could submit one, because i just hadn't being paying enough attention to what was going on, and because whenever i wasn't listening to endless sonic youth bootlegs, etc, for research, i found myself mostly listening to rap/soul. i had a feeling that K! would not appreciate a top ten with Amerie in first place.
next year however - VALHALLA I AM COMING
― stevie, Thursday, 20 December 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)
It has to be something Kerrang reviewed though doesn't it?
― Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 20 December 2007 19:50 (eighteen years ago)
yeah, exactly. i wasn't sure what of my list would have qualified, though Jesu would probably have been my first choice, followed by Icky Thump. Really stumped about where I would have gone from there, though High On Fire would definitely have been there, and also Pissed Jeans, and Lamps (though I don't think that got reviewed) and Black Lips.

At least you wouldn't have voted Biffy Clyro !
― Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 21 December 2007 11:37 (eighteen years ago)
I have no hatred for the Biff, all told! 'Puzzle' is still on my shelf, and one day i may even get around to playing it...

The Dethklok album is better than anything in their top 10
