(when i play this loud i get strange sensations in my sinuses. and my teeth. and my brain. not altogether unpleasant.)

Anyway this is much better than I expected. Initial reaction was "oh NOES electro retards are going to murder a classic" but the use of the Pendergrass sample a la "you can't hide from your bud" is a nice spot and they keep enough of a house-y vibe and resist the temptation to do a caveman thud beat ed banger-style...
(kinda reminds me of the housemeister album which no-one is talking about in the sense that it straddles classic chicago jack and french electro)

apparently it just is 'you can't hide from your bud' rather than using a sample like it. (lol i revived a sneak thread last week about it and got no responses. ;__;)
did anyone get that 'suck my deck' mix that he did? it's got a lot of the overly crunchy electro but there's a stretch where everything goes very jacking in a bangalter/smith n hack vein which is amazing; would love to hear a whole set like this. also 'the wanderer' by romanthony is the last track!

You mean the stretch from DJ Koze onwards? Agree - I like that (he also uses a housemeister track) but the first half is awful.

his last couple of remixes before the farley one have toned down the rave-cruch a bit, hopefully he's going more in this direction.

that is just 'u can't hide from your bud' through a filter/distortion. I can't tell if they even changed a single thing. wtf how can those guys hand that in with a straight face?

Well they did at least make an interesting musical connection between "you can't hide" and "love can't turn around".
― Jacobw, Tuesday, 29 July 2008 07:23 (seventeen years ago)
Also: french kids doing electro dance will not know "you can't hide from your bud".
