I think I prefer New Jersey to Slippery When Wet.

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Monday, 24 December 2007 00:03 (eighteen years ago)

"Keep The Faith" was an OK rock album. OK because they were less of a hair metal band and more of a straight rock band then.

― Geir Hongro, Monday, 24 December 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

Bon Jovi is the epitome of shit.

― Bo Jackson Overdrive, Monday, 24 December 2007 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

bon jovi seems to have found a niche with 20 something japanese guys in tokyo for some reason.

― sam500, Monday, 24 December 2007 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

and 30 year old women everywhere else.

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Monday, 24 December 2007 06:31 (eighteen years ago)

Lots of girls in general dig Bon Jovi. I don't know many guys now who like them that weren't into them in the 80s and even then plenty don't like them anymore.

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Monday, 24 December 2007 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

Speaking as a lurker I'll go with whatever one has Runaway on it. It's one of the first two, just can't remember which.

― steampig67, Monday, 24 December 2007 13:36 (eighteen years ago)

"Runaway" is on 7800° Fahrenheit. That one gets my vote as well.

― EZ Snappin, Monday, 24 December 2007 14:30 (eighteen years ago)

― jhøshea, Monday, 24 December 2007 14:47 (eighteen years ago)

Me too, because I discovered MTV in 1988, probably.

― Whiney G. Weingarten, Tuesday, 25 December 2007 08:55 (eighteen years ago)

Is Runaway not on the 1st album?

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Sunday, 30 December 2007 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

Good catch, the debut gets my vote.

― steampig67, Sunday, 30 December 2007 02:41 (eighteen years ago)

"DOH!" on the "Runaway" album appearance. I still have a cassette of the first two back to back and always get them confused.

So either of the first two over the rest of the bunch - I still go with 7800° Fahrenheit because it has the Pyromania sounding stuff like "Always Run To You" and "King of the Mountain".

― EZ Snappin, Sunday, 30 December 2007 17:59 (eighteen years ago)

King Of the Mountain was popular at my school

Any non-ironic love for Slippery When Wet?

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Thursday, 3 January 2008 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

it could only be post-ironic

― the galena free practitioner, Thursday, 3 January 2008 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for it because it has great songs; is that "non-ironic" enough?

― xhuxk, Thursday, 3 January 2008 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

Yes

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

― 6335, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

ALL INDEFENSIBLE SHIT!

I'm so yawnsomely predictable.

― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

You love it really.

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

I like a whole lot of inarguable shit, but B. Jovi has never been among it.

― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

Not even one song?

― The Ghost Of Dave Ling, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 13:35 (eighteen years ago)

Not even one song!

― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 13:37 (eighteen years ago)

― Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:30 (eighteen years ago)

How in the name of fuck did Slippery not win this?

― Mr. Snrub, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

It's ILM

― Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

I did vote New Jersey though, not heard it in over 15 years but I liked it at school.

― Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:46 (eighteen years ago)

eight months pass...

I still haven't heard it since

― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 2 October 2008 14:23 (eighteen years ago)

Oh come on, Pfunk. You know you're dying to play it RIGHT NOW.

― The More You Live The Faster You Will Die (Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You), Friday, 3 October 2008 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

No. But I bet you did.

― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 3 October 2008 07:57 (eighteen years ago)

two years pass...

I'm kinda developing a fondness for "These Days", these days.

― resonate with awesomeness (jel --), Sunday, 19 June 2011 19:15 (fifteen years ago)

one year passes...

So am I. Got a few good ones, I gotta admit.

― Mule, Monday, 21 January 2013 20:10 (thirteen years ago)

can't believe new jersey won

― kl0ppa john's (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 21 January 2013 20:25 (thirteen years ago)

It's funny, considering the whole "New Jersey"-concept which is the focus of discussion in this thread:

Every huge artist has their "New Jersey" - a huge event album that ultimately feels a bit hollow & signals a career decline

- which apparently you're behind, ums...

― Mule, Monday, 21 January 2013 21:29 (thirteen years ago)

Your bewilderment makes sense, then I guess
