Never forget:

Journey sucks. They sucked in 1981, they'll suck in 2033, and they suck now. Who gives a fuck what Tony Soprano thinks?

Ioannis, Saturday, 29 December 2007 11:26 (eighteen years ago)

Regardless of overkill and regardless that I don't like Journey, the truth remains it's "Don't Stop Believing"

Joe, Saturday, 29 December 2007 16:20 (eighteen years ago)

Love the album cover, though. I wish they would bring that type of silly 'futuristic' album cover made in the late 70s-early 80s back.

burnin' love comes once in a lifetime

Style of cover art

Joe, Saturday, 29 December 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

yeah stone in love, no doubt.

Just threw away my cassette of this & I miss it already.

Styx >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Journey

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 29 December 2007 17:53 (eighteen years ago)

That may actually be true, to a certain extent--Styx had cooler looking album covers, anyhow.

Ioannis, Saturday, 29 December 2007 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

Fuck "Dont Stop Believing"

billstevejim, Saturday, 29 December 2007 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

That cover is like the worst Braun electric-razor ad EVER

nabisco, Saturday, 29 December 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

I love Journey, but I feel absolutely no need to go beyond their greatest hits. The second CD that came along with that just didn't ignite my interest at all.

So chock one more up for Don't Stop Believin', which is a song I truly feel I could hear 50 billion times and never get tired of it.

Yes, Journey album covers suck.

"Stone in Love" - Classic or Greatest 4:25 In The History Of The Bay Area?

rogermexico., Saturday, 29 December 2007 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

With all due respect to "Don't Stop Believing," which is glorious despite the lyrics, fuck anyone who doesn't vote for "Stone In Love."

Lurkers, this means you!

rogermexico., Saturday, 29 December 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

What's sort of amazing is that after that astonishing one-two punch the rest of the album is pretty meh. And yet it may still be their best album.

rogermexico., Saturday, 29 December 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

Haha! No one voted for Open Arms. That's kindof funny. That's one of only 2 or 3 songs on the entire greatest hits that just bugged me a bit. Dunno why, cause I liked it when it came out. Now I just think of it as an inferior "Faithfully".

Bimble, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 02:17 (eighteen years ago)

six years pass...

I'm into "Who's Crying Now" personally

smhphony orchestra (crüt), Thursday, 8 May 2014 19:53 (eleven years ago)

journey was bloodless, and so overproduced that it drained a lot of the real life out of the music (nothing can drain the life out of steve perry's voice, notwithstanding his over-emoting), but they had some great songs. ex. a: stone in love.

Daniel, Esq 2, Thursday, 8 May 2014 21:04 (eleven years ago)

I think the title track might be my favourite.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 8 May 2014 23:48 (eleven years ago)

My stepdad has this on cassette and I remember the artwork was so cool and the music so mediocre

calstars, Friday, 9 May 2014 00:40 (eleven years ago)

JOURNEY - CLASSIC or DUD (cf. STEVE PERRY, CLASSIC OR DUD)?
