when a song you've loved for a long time turns out to have a video!

it very seldom occurs to me that almost every single released in the last 20 years or so comes with a video.. have you ever been ambushed by unexpected visual accompaniment? did it ever make you like the song LESS?

it didn't make me like the song less at all, in fact it's pretty close to what i imagined

Christ, where were you when that song was a hit? Because I wouldn't have remembered much about it except the video, it was pretty ubiquitous on MTV Europe at least.

In my case, this applies to many 80s songs which I couldn't have seen back then because my family didn't have MTV, and which weren't big enough hits to be rerun on MTV in the 90s.

Also, a lot of early 90s rap, which wasn't played that much on MTV Europe. I didn't see the videos for Wu-Tang Clan's "Protect Ya Neck" or Nas's "It Ain't Hard to Tell" until this decade I think, but they were pretty much what I expected.
