Born Against Could Use A Thread, Right?

Feeling nostalgic for this early 90s hardcore band that rivaled and often surpassed their early 80s heroes (Die Kreuzen, Articles of Faith, Void...) in terms of power, passion, anger, and, crucially, humor. I miss their preposterous live antics, the feeling of actual unpredictablility at their shows.

Their first 7" (http://www.7inchpunk.com/?p=918) and their final 10", "Battle Hymns of the Race War," are BOTH still excellent, excellent, excellent.

Also good: Adam Nathanson's next group (Young) Pioneers, and Sam MacPheeters' subsequent Mens Recovery Project and Wrangler Brutes.

Yes, I like this band. I believe I still have the 10"!

"Shroud"
"Poland"
"A Whopper Of A Tale"

My favorite of anything post-Born Against was the Men's Recovery Project LP on Load, "Bolides Over Basra."

One of the most important bands in the turn of the 90s.

Their side of the split 8" w/M.I.T.B. was a huge eye-opening moment for me - loved "Albany Academy" especially, one of Adam's songs if I remember right

loved this band. MRP also blew me away. i went to see them at 924 Gilman and they said the band had canceled. i remember thinking it must be a hoax... but it wasnt. :(

Who has the BA flexi?

Definitely a classic.

I still give props to Rudimentary Peni for best punk band ever, but I love the Born Against album and the one Man is the Bastard show I saw was one of the heaviest things ever.

It's so nice when political bands take the time to write great music.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of that 8" when I mentioned the 10". Adam's guitar parts got so melodic, and so good. I love how his solo in "The Trash Should Have Been Free" sounded like it could have appeared on Rites of Spring's LP.
