co-sign, except I'd replace "Rollout" with "Pimpin' All Over The World"

Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 7 January 2008 00:02 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 00:05 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 00:05 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 00:05 (seventeen years ago)

"Southern Hospitality," easy.

xhuxk, Monday, 7 January 2008 00:18 (seventeen years ago)

Yes. Less embarrassing for everyone that way.

chap, Monday, 7 January 2008 00:59 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 01:16 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 01:17 (seventeen years ago)

also what "lorenzo kitted" meant

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 01:17 (seventeen years ago)

r|t|c, Monday, 7 January 2008 01:24 (seventeen years ago)

@DHMBIB: Not at all, some of them are very funny. It's just that there are, like, hundreds of them that aren't, or are so mathematically or graphically flawed that they flub the joke.

Ha, I hated it at the time and just realized in the past year or so how great it is.

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 01:42 (seventeen years ago)

I made up my mind. "We can do it in the library on top of books/ But you can't be too loud" = a victory

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 01:43 (seventeen years ago)

Ho wasn't a single?

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Monday, 7 January 2008 01:57 (seventeen years ago)

lol no

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:00 (seventeen years ago)

could you imagine that being on the radio?

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:00 (seventeen years ago)

it actually wouldn't have been that big of a deal. "you a hooooooooooooooo/ ooooooooooooooooh" = "you a ooooooooooooooooooh/ oooooooooooooooooh"

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:01 (seventeen years ago)

bummerz

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:02 (seventeen years ago)

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:06 (seventeen years ago)

I used to sing "Area Codes" to my high school gf because it bugged her. She apparently didn't realize it was an actual song until I did this in front of a mutual friend and she started singing along. </random anecdote>

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:10 (seventeen years ago)

so many </random anecdote>s about luda songs

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:10 (seventeen years ago)

my friend hardy and i used to chill in our spanish teacher's classroom during lunch in 8th grade and rap to a luda mix cd i had made

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:11 (seventeen years ago)

"she" being the mutual friend. Gf didn't spontaneously develop knowledge of the song. xxp

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:11 (seventeen years ago)

it was like 12 luda songs + "world's greatest" and "holla back (young'n)"

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:11 (seventeen years ago)

Around the time the second album came out, I was in a record store and this guy who must have been at least 45 came in humming "Roll Out" to himself and I loling and he gave me this look like WTF.

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:13 (seventeen years ago)

I lolled...

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:15 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:18 (seventeen years ago)

since it's been quoted twice now in this thread

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:18 (seventeen years ago)

It's the delivery (as it often is w/ Luda)

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:19 (seventeen years ago)

he has so many fire rap city freestyles

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 January 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

You know what was hella classic? When Killer Mike started rapping about the stickers in the booth.

The Reverend, Monday, 7 January 2008 02:21 (seventeen years ago)

Diamond in the Back is so underrated

Preview of the Matrix 12, Monday, 7 January 2008 03:30 (seventeen years ago)

love 'The Potion'

blueski, Monday, 7 January 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)

Dang, I just accidentally voted for "Move Bitch" because my brain temporarily made it "Stand Up", which gets my real vote is. It's a shame "Down in tha Dirty" seems to have come and gone without much of a blip on the radar. It feels stronger than any of the singles off his last album.

matt2, Monday, 7 January 2008 16:44 (seventeen years ago)

Virtually impossible to get it down to one - see POV: Ludacris or Ludacris POX. Any of the following are basically unstoppable to me:

southern hospitality (if the video mix)
area codes
rollout
saturday
stand up

"Splash Waterfalls" and "Runaway Love" need to be AGGRESSIVELY deleted tho.

Underrated: "Number One Spot."

In the end it comes down to "So control your hormones and keep your drawers on / till I close the door and I'm jumpin' your bones" VERSUS the perfect delivery of "Roll Out" VERSUS the fact that "Stand Up" is the only on one here that I've really enjoyed dancing to, VERSUS this:

Now don't it sound absurd
Claim College Park where they flip them birds
Trick car alarms, then bend them curves
Chop chop, chunk it up fat man herrrrrb

I don't know. I just don't know.

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 13:02 (seventeen years ago)

Fuck, I should have voted for "Southern Hospitality."

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 13:05 (seventeen years ago)

southern hospitality (if the video mix)

OTM, I was so disappointed to hear the song as it is on the album.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 14:00 (seventeen years ago)

'Number One Spot' has maybe one of the most novel uses of a done to death sample i've heard this decade. but the lines are shit and it came out far too late.

blueski, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 14:26 (seventeen years ago)

Southern Hospitality, no question. "Roll Out" not far behind it though. Was "Catch Up" not a single?

will, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 15:09 (seventeen years ago)

Really tricky but I plumped for Area Codes in the end - it's the only record ever that makes repeated bad punning seem like a brilliant idea.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 15:20 (seventeen years ago)

The "Whatever You Want" remix of "Splash Waterfalls" is all kinds of classic.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 17:58 (seventeen years ago)

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the lines in "Number One Spot" are shit - they're not incredibly inspired, but they're delivered well. And this bit manages to do the same trick as the sample, taking a played-out aspect of the Austin Powers phenomenon and doing something fun with it:

These women tryin' to get me out my Pelle Pelle
They strip off my clothes and tell me, "Get in my belly!"

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 21:58 (seventeen years ago)

what's your fantasy

RAW also check the remix

deej, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 22:00 (seventeen years ago)

I hatehatehatehatehate "Number One Spot" and "Splash Waterfalls".

HI DERE, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 22:38 (seventeen years ago)
