The way she puts her fingers in her mouth

^^^ voted for this, eating disorders are hot

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 10 January 2008 10:51 (eighteen years ago)

Honestly I only know shit like this exists because of you guys. Tough call here on the flaming misogyny front. The pie line is pretty outstandingly foul isn't it?

Scik Mouthy, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:07 (eighteen years ago)

"Oh girly girly
Yo make my heart go swirly swirly
Won't you come round for tea
With me
At half past three
Will this do?"

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

Yo = You obviously, wouldn't want to introduce nasty council estate slang into heartfelt celebration of true love.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

Request changable usernames, that Quitney be now known as "The Cut Chemist of Britpop"

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

Is there a Craig David revival going on somewhere? (Noodle xpost)

Dingbod Kesterson, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

Well he had that single out last year but I get the feeling he should really sue Avid Merrion whose done for his career what Baddiel and Skinner did for Jason Lee's.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:12 (eighteen years ago)

Her motorcycle riding to the South

Do you think this could be a blowjob euphemism? Because if it was I don't know if I could go on

DJ Mencap, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:15 (eighteen years ago)

i'm sure jake shillingford (i think that was his name) has a myspace. we could ask.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:23 (eighteen years ago)

Could we ask him to never make any more music ever again while we're on?

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:24 (eighteen years ago)

That Scouting For Kids thing had a similar lyrical bent to this didn't it?

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:25 (eighteen years ago)

Haven't MLS reformed? Which begs the story of what the fuck annoying glitter-covered bints who were listening to his shit when they were 18 are doing now.

Quitney?

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:25 (eighteen years ago)

jake shillingford (i think that was his name)

lol art of pretend forgetfulness

DJ Mencap, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:25 (eighteen years ago)

Who's worse; Scouting For Kunts or The Hoosiers?

I thought Bernard Cribbins starred in that.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:29 (eighteen years ago)

He's lost that infuriating side parting he used to have, thankfully. Going more for the James Blunt look, unfortunately.

Neil S, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

Jake Shillingford:

He used to manage Dingwalls Camden, I believe. He tried to throw me out for standing in the lobby, even though the club was extremely hot, and I (being a poorly soul and 9 stone in my 6 ft 1 ness, just recovering from Crohns etc) was trying to get some air, basically. "It's not even that hot!" he shouted, then went back into his office. stroppy prat.

Mark G, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

I'd've said Scouting For Kids were worse until the Hoosiers did that fucking TV advert.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:38 (eighteen years ago)

wiki say they have indeed reformed as recently as last month.

That's not the full horror but it gives you a taste of how much they need to die.

"I love the way she fills her clothes.
She looks just like them girls in vogue.
I love the way she plays it cool.
I think that she is beautiful.

She's Pretty, a fitty
She's got a boyfriend though and thats a pitty.
She's flirty so flirty
And that kind of girl thats really dirty.

I love the way she bites her lip
I love the way she shakes them hips.
I love the way she makes me drool.
I think that she is beautiful.

A stunner, I want her
Was she this fit when she was 10 years younger?
Come see me discreatly.
She says shes got a trick or two to teach me."

Comparing it to the MLS song, I don't know if this is an example of:

a) declining standards of literacy
b) lol indie

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:02 (eighteen years ago)

Compare their chart placings!

Not that's a measure of anything, compare their sales. Oh wait..

Mark G, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:05 (eighteen years ago)

She looks just like them girls in vogue

i blame russell brand.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:05 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I was thinking it had to be some kind of Brand-esque "irony". Presumably these boys don't speak like this at home. That makes it worse if anything tho.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

"Was she this fit when she was 10 years younger?"

Are they P4EDOs????

Dingbod Kesterson, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

They're called Scouting For Kids, what do you think?

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 10 January 2008 12:23 (eighteen years ago)

I'd take Jake "Netto Neil Hannon" Shillingford over the bloody Hoosiers anyday. At least My Life Story had one good single(Strumpet).

one month passes...

Invest
Jake Shillingford is one of the first so called DIY practitioners, harnessing the networking power of the internet to bring together friends, creative types and music lovers, whilst providing a steady stream of his own recorded output undiluted by mucky fingers.
The Scheme
ExileInvest was launched in 2002 to raise funds to cover the recording, marketing and manufacturing costs for the first Exilophone Records release; Ei034 by proto existential angst synth pop band ExileInside.
We invited a small number of people to invest a minimum of £500 each. Now in 2007, we currently have 27 Investor Angels still voluntarily in the scheme as we start work on Jake's first solo album, the fifth long player to be released on the label.
Autonomy
This scheme cuts out the traditional role of the record company. Jake will own 100% of the recording rights to his work, instead of ’selling’ his rights to a record company for a cash ’advance’ to record an album. In theory we are replacing the record company with our friends and fans!
The deal
For a minimum investment of £500 you will receive:
1. An AAA Pass. Entitles you to free admission to Jake's concerts and access to aftershows, Exilophone records related events etc.
2. Exclusive unreleased material. Investor Angels will be given a PIN number and access to unreleased and ’work in progress’ downloads via a secure area on our site. Just like A&R men from a traditional label, Angels will be able to chart the progress of the album’s creation by downloading rough mixes and outtakes. This will be implemented on the site over the summer.
3. Regular emails. Directly from Jake, charting the labels progress.
4. Free T Shirt on joining the scheme, and of course a copy of finished albums with a credit to your good self on the artwork.
5. A credit on the website and a complete return on your investment after the first 2000 copies of an album has been sold. What happens to my money?
Every penny goes towards the cost of making and releasing the record. Investor Angels receive their investment back on a first come first served basis after approx 2000 albums have been sold.

Hmm, did they tell them it was Jake Shillingford's solo album they'd be "angelling"?

And another 20 held there under duress?
