What is the most affecting music you have heard at a funeral ?
I ask this as I recently attended a funeral where they played Hawkwind's 'Golden Void' and it was sublime.
What music would you pick for your own burial/cremation ?
( in my mind ZX's 'Son of a Gun' segues into 'Ace of Spaces' then into 'Witchita Lineman' )
Off to watch Ant + Dec..catchya later !

At mine? Charlemagne Palestine playing the organ, live. But the real answer is that I wouldn't specify - I'd let my friends pick. I mean, I wouldn't be hearing it, right? They could play Crazy Town for all I cared.

Momus- Protestant Art Pouges- Hes a man you dont meet everyday Magnetic Feilds - When you die i die Irish Rovers- Lord of the Dance Bob Dylan- You got to serve somebody Johnny Cash -Slow Train Coming
For the Non Catholic Religous Service : Mahalia Jacksons - Amazing Grace. Benjamin Brittens setting of Auden Poems Movement 3 Carter Family - Make sure my grave is kept clean Shoshtakovitch - 3rd Concerto
Mass : Bach - Chorale to God the Father George Crumb - Black Angels The Seafearers hymn Weil - Little Stars Hildegarde Van Bingen- Requiem ( last section for bendecitan)
I am Catholic. My mother and My Sister are mormon . David is Jewish. My Father is an atheist . Most of my friends are either protestant or agnostic/atheist. Hence the 3 services. Catholics require non pagan music for weddings and funerals. Therefore Weil and George Crumb may be problematic.

I can't believe it. I remember contributing to this thread months ago when L was still OK (even though the cancer was probably there then).
God, what a year. I'll be glad to be shot of it.
