There are likely pre-existing threads for this, but I'm looking for recommendations of songs that are good to listen to when you are bummed by stuff that seems overwhelming but really isn't but at the moment it's got you befucked, and you need some kinda grace to come on down or something. Said recommendations will be as subjective as it gets, but go crazy, as it were. I will subsequently partake of the ILXORs' Rx's.
thread inspired by hearing Queen's "You're My Best Friend"

the zombies, "care of cell 44" feels so good you're coming home soon!
and on an entirely different note: toots and the maytals, "pressure drop"
― Emily Bjurnhjam, Monday, 14 January 2008 20:12 (eighteen years ago)
I hear you on the Queen song.
Of Montreal's "She's a Rejector" helps me when I'm blue, as does the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out."

Thanks, you guys!!! Keep 'em coming! I am going to take a scientific approach and make a comp (or at least a folder on iTunes w/all of these) and then submerge myself in them...
At the moment I am immersing myself in the results of an orgy of some massive multi-volume bubblegum comp that I've d/l'ed a ton of tracks from. The results of that exercise deserve a post in and of itself, and I will report on that in some detail a bit later.
Joey Levine/Richie Cordell axis of wow
That gumstuff is not necessarily what I'm soliciting here, but, regardless it's blowing my mind in good ways, etc.

Yeah Kanye all over this one. I use "We Don't Care" as a kind of drug.
― lukas, Monday, 14 January 2008 20:47 (eighteen years ago)
sometimes the bummer songs at just the right time can be just the right prescription, though. that's why I wanna encourage responses to be as subjective as fuckall

depending on what kind of bad mood i'm in, "Good to Sea" by Pinback is a fun song when I'm feeling dreary.
the last few weeks have been rainy and work has been tough. I've found myself listening to moodier stuff like "raver" by Burial, and "Life's What You Make It" over and over for some reason.
